well, fact is:
many german/french people speak up to 3 languages!...most english/american people are at least able to speak their own language... and why do you think is the english language the most popular one? because of the former not so great commonwealth? - NO! english is spoken all around the world, because it´s one of the most primitive ones and so you can easily learn it! compared to french, english is way easier!

It has the most basic verbs, less vocab to learn, easy formed plural and adverbs....
