Stuckpixel of the ReSwitched team recently released his exploit "Nereba".

This exploit will enable Nintendo Switch owners with early units that have held off updating, still on the original 1.0.0 firmware to reboot into a Fusée Gelée payload without any dongle, USB connections to a external device or jig directly from stock untouched firmware. In addition support for 2.x and 3.x firmware is also planned in the future, opening up the exploit to significantly more consoles.

The implementation takes advantage of the nspwn exploit, that users of the original 3.0.0 homebrew implementation will be familiar with. Used in conjunction with this, users will be able to boot any Fusee Gelee payload from the micro SD card, placed in the nereba folder on the root of the SD card. After running the script from the Switch web applet, users can reboot into any payload by launching the album applet from the home menu.

Hold on just a bit longer, and you will both have a softmod, cfw and the ability to run higher FW while keeping fuses low, with potential coldboot even further down the line.

If i’m understanding things right, 1.0 sysnand with a 7.0.1+ emunand triggered from stock is what we’re potentially looking at here...
Basically the best thing aside from a raw solderless coldboot
I should add as an edit only best if you’re not bothered with online whatsoever, o/w other options may suit lol

emunand simple. It's already confirmed this is top priority now so that will happen in the coming weeks

Not really sure there is a market for 1.0.0 consoles, the exploit still needs Emunand.

When it comes however, you'll be faced with two options:

1) Sysnand on low firmware (offline) > Warmboot > Emunand (offline)
2) Sysnand on latest (online) > RCM > Emunand (offline)

As it's not possible to be safe online using Emunand due to it being easily detected and redirecting everything to an sdcard, I can see the vast majority of the community using option 2, because they are already using RCM and they can use their sysnand for retail/f2p games, not sure warmboot is worth exiling yourself from online.

It's the one thing that TX have going for them.

low sysnand for warm boot
emunand one , latest FW , clean no NSP's installed , for booting legit carts and playing online
emunand two , latest FW , NSP's installed , offline only

if we could boot between sysnand and 2 different emunands it would be best

I know this is super late but I actually did search nereba last night. Reason I say this is because when I search neraba, I get some slovenian results and, more importantly, no soccer girl.

Anyway thanks to the person who explained where the name comes from. I'm a fan of poking fun at the over-abundance of French names in the Switch scene.

Use this so you don’t need a jig + emunand to run the latest firmware (once emunand is available ofc, which should be very soon)

I was alluding to the ability to play games that require higher FW.

You will be able to use the latest firmware while still using this, hence, you can play latest games. SXOS already have EmuNAND support, atmosphere will come in a few days.

If you somehow got a 1.0.0 FG patched system, it’d probably work fine
