nds-bootstrap loader: Run commercial NDS backups from an SD Card

nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

I'm sure I just browsed through all the folders and I couldn't find a single Golden Sun patch.
That's because odrive sucks

Here you go

It was in /RetroGameFanGame Patches from DS-Scene ROM tool/xdelta files by dubbz82

you have to wait for all files to appear in odrive

Is it normal ATM for Warioware DIY to not save? I went through the tutorial and made a game (Which didn't show up on the game list) and after starting the game up again the file was erased. It could be because i don't have an AP patch applied, but I couldn't find one for it.
Yes, it's normal atm.
It's the only game that uses a NAND chip for saving, and as a result, the save function for it isn't patched.

nds-bootstrap v0.10.2

What's new?
  • More DSi-Enhanced thumb games are working!
  • Some SM64DS ROM hacks are working again, such as Mario's Holiday!
  • Async prefetching is now an option! You can change this option in DSiMenu++, if some games aren't working with this option set.
Bug fixes
  • Most SDK5 games should work on DSi again.
  • Most of Anno 1701's graphics are now shown again.
  • Sound doubling issue in some games have been fixed.

Since I've been meaning to try out the DS Anno games (big fan of the series overall), I only see Anno 1701 and that it works according to the compatibility list. Does it work properly or is it buggy? You put "most" in the changelog, so just wondering. Also, I don't see Anno Create a New World (the Anno 1404 spin-off) in the compatibility list, is it supported or just no one has tested it yet? Planning to try it out later today...

PS: Finally, I really don't like DSiMenu++ because it takes too long to load just one game (I like swapping between 3DS and DS games over and over), so I use forwarders. How does the Async prefetching work exactly for forwarder users?

EDIT: Just tested the EU version of Anno Create a New World and it seems to run well, without any issues as far as I saw.

Retro Game Challange - Freezes after the title screen
Golden Sun 3 - Black Screen
Mario vs Donkey Kong Mini Land Mayem - Still not showing the mini marios sprites

You can hold L+R+DOWN+B for 2 seconds to return to DSiMenu++.
It is faster than going back to 3DS Menu and starting DSiMenu++ again.

Also, the forwarders don't have their own per-game settings.

That's the thing, going back to 3DS Menu and selecting another game takes about the same time, only difference is that you can go between 3DS and NDS games a lot faster if using forwarders, reason I prefer them, while DSiMenu++ offers nothing as far as features I'm concerned about, giving me even less incentive to use it, on top of the ugly DSi look (I really hated that one and organizing it takes forever). Would it be possible to make forwarders have an option for Async prefetching? Like, when creating the forwarder, have it as an option there or something...

DSiMenu++ has 3 themes to use. The DSi theme, the 3DS theme, and an R4 theme.

When I have the time, I can probably put that in.

While the forwarders are indeed a faster solution to booting DS games, it has it's disadvantages.
With the forwarders, you can only install a limited number of them, as they're made as DSiWare, which have the 40 title limit.
If you have more than 40, DSiMenu++, while not as fast, is another good solution.

I understand there's the limit and all, but I only have 15 games I want to have available through forwarders as I have the cartridges for any others, so I find it troublesome to just have DSiMenu++ for that few games, plus, as I said, none of the features it offers really interest me (I only care about the game running properly and nothing else). Thanks for considering the suggestion by the way, looking forward to it.

Mentioned it earlier in the thread, but have you any idea why Drayano Pokémon romhacks seem to shatter instantaneously? Does it have to do with the codes used?

A few games I tested that weren't on the list. All games tested with NTR CPU setting
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword: USA, 128MB untrimmed. The game work and only the intro is has a mild lag.
Spider-Man 3: USA, 64MB untrimmed. Game locks on a white screen
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions: USA, 64MB untrimmed. Game works without noticeable issues.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows: USA, 64MB untrimmed. Game works without noticeable issues.
Tokyo Beat Down: USA, 64MB untrimmed. Game works without noticeable issues.

Alice in Wonderland works with ap patched (A-sync must be disabled) but there is a problem with the enemies of the game and I can't kill them are invincible (lol) therefore doesn't let advance in the game.
