Name the Switch successor: what should Nintendo call its new console?

switch2.jpg

Nintendo has officially announced that a successor to the beloved Switch console is on the horizon. As we eagerly anticipate what innovations this new device will bring, there's one fun piece of the puzzle left undecided: its name.

The name of a console is more than just a label; it's the first impression, a brand identity, and often, a crucial element in its success or failure. Think back to the Nintendo Wii, which despite its unusual name, revolutionized gaming with its motion controls and family-friendly appeal. On the flip side, we have the Wii U, whose name caused quite a bit of confusion and didn't resonate as well with the audience.

This is where you come in! Nintendo has always been about innovation and community, and what better way to honor that spirit than by inviting you, the fans, to help name the next generation console? Whether you think it should be something classic like the "Switch 2" or something more creative like "Super Switch Ultra Deluxe" we want to hear your most creative and catchy ideas. Don't hold back—post your naming ideas in the comments below. Feel free to upvote the names you love, and why not add your twist to someone else’s suggestion?

I'm still in the Super Switch camp, but here's some other ideas I had:

Nintendo Switch-UP
≡NEW≡ Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch Plus
Nintendo Switch X

The Super Take Down.

All these years of screwing little guys for daring to share their creativity with the world has actually been one massive advertising campaign.

The EULA will state that by touching the console, you will have breached the EULA.

Just like Apple:

Or something like...
Nintendo Switch - MSE (More Stability Edition)

The Smart name would be 'Switch 2', simple, clean and informative without any effort.

But all the people who want Nintendo to suffer and completely die should be hoping for a "Wii U" scenario where people think it's just an add-on, so for those I'd go with the 'Switch Attach' rumour from a while ago.

GBAtemp should be legally obligated to ban them, as its against the law to collect information from users under 13 because of COPPA. :tpi:

VR had the chance to integrate with existing games and tech but VR companies said "NO, I WANT MY SHIT TO BE STANDALONE AND MY GAMES EXCLUSIVE TO FACEBOOK"

Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
