kongsnutz, i followed your guide (first option, official wii update after patching IOS60), and all is well, but i seem to not be able to use wiigator gcbackup loader any more. It goes to a green screen with out giving me anytime to select options or start the game, then reboots my wii. Only my guess on this, but i think i should re-run the Mios patcher? Or downgrade first, then patch Mios, and re-upgrade?? Any one have a solution for gcn copy playing. I am soft-mod'ing, I have no modchip. wii backups loaded by 0.3 gamma inside HBC still work great...

I tried this.
After press B for the IOS61 it ask me for Shop Channel, so i press B again, and... "press any key to exit".

And no, i don't have any cIOS. In my mind cIOS = softmod, i'm wrong ?
I just have installed some IOS to fuk the Error 002, that's all.

Sorry mate you need Cios249 to install IOS60, it looks like your screwed for now.

UNLESS!! that ios that you installed to bypass error 002 was CIOS.......try installing a wad using wadmanager if its successful you have cios

Other than that i have no idea why you cant install IOS60

@rami

Yep install Mios again as 4.0 would have made it gone.

Can i install cIOS249 now, or it's not recommended ?

So at first i will search for the IOS60 wad.

Thx for all your answers !

Hi,

I have pal wii with a wiikey and on 3.2e and would like to know the following:

1/. Will pirated wads wii ware + vc games work as normal? And can they be moved from the wii menu to the sd card and then back from to sd card to the wii menu and work like normal?

2/. I understand the hbc will work like normal and any applications within it like wad manager and gecko os is that correct?

3/. Can backup games be run from the disc cahnnel as normal?

Once answered i will attempt to update.
I understand i should install cIOS36 rev 8 before i upgrade.

Cheers

1. Yes if you follow either method in my guide

2. YEP

3. Yes with the chip (not softmod)

Install Cios8 first .........all in the guide buddy ,

cheers

@GrAmS

If your on 4.0 you cannot install CIOS atm at all sorry.

Try installing a wad file, if you can install a wad you have CIOS already

If you have a modchip and a 4.0 with Trucha, here is a modified HBC Installer ISO (I changed the title ID because HAXX was blacklisted by Nintendo, and updated the dol to 1.01). So, if you lose the HBC (or you format the console) it's possible to recover

That's helpful, you can get the same thing if you copy HBC to SD card if you installed IOS60

back it up on pc and you will be fine........

No, if the ticket is deleted from the console (when you format, for example) you can't copy it back.

Hahaha ofcourse.........sorry it's late and i wasn't thinking hahaha

ok i will add your iso to the first page as a reference

Hmm actually thinking, i wonder how nintendo handled this, if i have a game on my SD card and format the wii does it mean that game cant be run from the SD anymore......... imma test this with a game by deleteing the title ticket from the wii but leave it on my SD, as the game from SD gets installed for a while after launching from SD i think it may still work......will post results soon

Results:

deleted wave race from wii using wadmanager

tried to launch on sd

cannot be launched............. hahaha ohwells.

Your "Method 2" is not entirely true. During the Waninkoko installation, there were several ISO installations, not just IOS60 and IOS61. And, yes, I'm sure that some of these had been installed before, because I know at one time in the past, IOS50 or IOS51 was required for a Shop Channel installation. Both of these were installed, using Waninkoko's method.

Yeh it installs whatever is required by 4.0 menu but that's all.

i only mentioned those two cos they are the newest.......not that it matters both methods are now fool proof if followed correctly.

That's fine. I just didn't want to deceive people into thinking that it ONLY installs 60 and 61. Good job!

BTW:: After I run the cIOS rev.8, and Waninkoko Firmware Updater 4.0 installers, will I still be able to patch IOS60? I've seen several posts where people are saying the only choice you get is IOS61!?

Thanks!

Follow method 2 in the guide exactly and everything will be fine.

That guy had that issue because he didn't have CIOS installed before updating

Sorry... You must have misunderstood me. I've already updated to System Menu v4.0, using my tutorial, with cIOS36 rev. 8 and Waninkoko's FU4.0. However, my tutorial does not use the IOS Installer. Will I still be able to run the patch for IOS60, after I've successfully updated to v4.0??

Thanks!

It didn't work.

I ran the installer/patcher, and it asked me all of the expected questions. I said "NO" to IOS61, "YES" to IOS60, "YES" to the IOS60 Patch, and "NO" to the Shop Channel installation.

Afterwards, I rebooted, installed Potpourri using WADManager, copied Potpourri to the SD Card using Data Management, and then deleted Potpourri using WADManager. So, at this point, I have Potpourri installed on my SD Card and not in the System Menu.

Then, I attempted to launch Potpourri from my SD Card. It then tells me that I can't run this title on this system.

Any ideas??

you don't delete channels with WAD manager, you delete them via the system menu

WAD manger removes the tickets and without tickets, the system Menu can not run any channel, even if it has been copied on SD

think as if you were only using legal channels and didn't know WAD manager exists (I know, it's hard)...
