So I was just enjoying my newly hacked ps3 thanks to the new exploit and everything seemed great, too much joy preceding the tragedy that was to come. On this friday, I stupidily decided to connect my ps3 to the internet so that I could transfer some files via ftp although I could have done that via usb and the file manager and didn't notice my account was active and set to auto login. I decided to play a game offline for a bit then called it a day. on sunday I tried to log onto my account from the computer and got the message that is depressing me to this day, hour, minute, second. My account got permanently banned. Why? Because of my own stupidity. I had planned NEVER to connect to the internet with that ps3 for any reason, and yet I did. The only thing I cared about were my ps4 games; I don't care about online, I don't play online. I had 3 digitally purchased games as well as dlc, and also had a wallet containing $43 which I was saving to get a game next year. I'm so pissed and mad at myself, usually I'm far more careful but this time I was completely reckless. So if anything bad happens to my vita or ps4, my 3 ps4 games and 2 vita ones that I purchased digitally are lost. The reason I'm posting this is to try and warn people so that they don't end up in that situation; as even someone like me who's vigilant can mess up badly at times. I know you may already know about cfw and ban, but sometimes stumbling upon a message such as this one can make you go and double check your account is safe. From now on I will buy my games physically, I'll only buy dlc digitally since we pretty much have no choice if we want to get additional content. So just be careful and for the love of life, don't screw up like I did. Have a nice day.

I got a couple free titles way back from the sony hack as well as plenty of purchased games/dlc that I am afraid of losing. My stupid ass had some issues after going CFW and when booted after crash I selected to send report to PSN thinking it was the file checker message, I look forward to losing it all due to my jive turkiness. Sucks going digital at times but hey if I were you I'd go full CFW on your PS4 to get all those games back.

I did that once by accident, depends on the crash really and why it happened. I never got banned though.

Use react psn to dump your game licences and then reactivate the games with the reactpsn method to permanently activate them. You will now be able to restore the license at any time. To obtain a backup of the game dump the game folder from hdd:0/game/"title id of game" you can restore this backup at any time by uploading it back into the same folder you dumped it from and booting your PS3 into recovery mode and choosing rebuild database. If you ever need to reactivate it just use your dumped license file with reactpsn again.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

This method will work for dumping any PSN app/game. You can use the dumped folder to build a game pkg for easy reinstall but the restore method I mentioned is efficient enough however it will eliminate any modifications made to the database file

The hopeful situation is they don't ban your account. Just avoid any kind of further risky behavior and you may be safe for your current account. I'm sorry if not but be sure to but physical games from now on

I'm new to PS3 cfw, what program do you use to do this? I've been trying to figure this out for 2 of my games and haven't been able to figure it out.

Yes. like one person said, I only cared about my ps4 and vita games, since my vita is on 3.65 so no henkaku for me. My games still work on ps4 and vita, but should I need to redownload them, I'll have to rebuy them. all my ps3 games are physical, I backed them up to external drive. I pretty much lost $60 worth of money and future dlc I was entitled to. What's worse is that I could have avoided this so easily, but unfortunately there is no time machine to go back.

if its isnt too late for newcomers, probably best to resgister a different email per system.

you are not the first and will never be the last.

users need to start understanding that exploits, mods, chips, flashcards, cfw all violate your console manufacturers T&Cs, and if you chose to ignore this and use said exploits that allow piracy, nintendo/sony/ms will ban users if caught.

you can try make as many accounts as you like, it will not work.

if sony are kind and only banned your psn account, then the second you create another and go online sony will see your MAC ADDRESS and permanently ban your console.

it needs no confirmation.

maybe you need to look up what an ip address is and what it does.

but saying that, it wont be your ip address that gets banned, because if it was then you could simply use someone elses internet and be back online.

its either your psn account and/or your consoles console id that i unique that gets banned, sony could even block the console MAC address which again is unique.

Sure they could ban the console based on its MAC address, but only if the MAC is sent as part of a console ID during log-in as log-in information, otherwise your MAC address dies in layer 2, it stays to your side of the router and never gets out into the internet.

No, I mean that when they ban your account they also ban all other accounts that have signed in from that same IP address within a certain period of time (ok, so it would be a little more complicated than that due to ip addresses sometime though rarely changing but not much, you just use multiple data points). As an example, say you have a hacked ps3 and a legit ps4/vita so being smart you decide to use a separate account for your hacked ps3 so if your account gets banned it is no big deal because there was nothing of value on it anyway. But by banning all accounts "associated" with the ip address you lose your legit ps4/vita account as well.

When I said that's impossible I mean to say I completely dismiss this notion that Sony implements such a practice, obviously it's technically possible.

To confirm; you say, there of a risk of all non-cfw/legitimate Sony gaming devices being banned if they connect to the same network that cfw Sony gaming device also connects to? So that includes, hotels and pretty much all public hotspots?

I just don't believe Sony implements this practice unless someone puts forward some evidence, seems to "Person of Interest" for me....
