This might sound strange, try booting your windows in safe mode with network support.
I had the same issues as you with both my Vita1000 and VitaTV. After starting Windows in Safe mode with network enabled, I could finally connect to my Vita.

After the hack, I only use FTP which works flawless.

Well, booting in Safe Mode did not help me with the issue. But thanks to you, I discovered the FTP option, which circumvented my issue entirely. So, just wanted to thank you.

Question: can you do 2 players with Vita TV? Thinking about getting one, and that ability would definitely make me pull the trigger on it.

I know some fighting games might have a multiplayer option on the VitaTV, but it was the developer that made the choice and there weren't many devs who did this.

Edit: I found a list of local multiplayer games for the VitaTV on the internet ;)

Basically all I would want to be using it for 2P is the new Vita version of Streets of Rage Remake, so I can co-op it with some family. If you or someone could test this, I'd definitely appreciate it.
