Gaming My GH5 wii controller randomly pauses the game. What's wrong with it?

Its a retail AUS PAL disc. I'm running 4.2E. I have the same issue with GH World Tour (also retail) so I think its the controller. The game doesn't freeze, it pauses, like I've pressed +.
