Hacking Mupen64-360 only working from USB

I can load mupen and play games just fine off of my USB drive. However, when I copy the same file/folder structure to the root of my HDD and launch the .elf with Aurora I have some oddities. First, it uses the default background as if it can't find mupen wallpaper files. Then, when I try loading a rom I get a red screen with segmentation fault.

Does anyone know what may be causing this or if there's a work around? I have the official microsoft 250gb internal HDD. Also, I'm not sure if it's related or not, but when I try launching the .elf with Xell, xell can't find the xenon.elf located on the root of the HDD.

elf files need to be launched from the USB.
XeLL doesn't scan the HDD.

Huh ok. So to your knowledge, there's no way to get Mupen64-360 to run from your internal hard drive?

Nope, homebrew written for XeLL can only be launched from a USB drive.

I can get muppen and DC to run from HDD but very buggy compared to USB.
