STATIC_SMB="192.168.0.4DNS-323MEDIA"

Definitely works me (where MEDIA is a network share which anyone can access on my DNS-323 drive which has been allocated that IP address by the DHCP server)

With the above in place when I go to "Open ..." -> "Open File ..." -> "SHARES/" I see:

../
MEDIA/
NAS/ (but this only appears cos my NAS drive is also acting as a uPnP server)

HTH

Look through the video, and do as iv'e shown, and you wont go WRONG! anyway, download the package, put the app on SD Card, and make sure the config file is on Root Of SD Card, make sure you always keep the SD Card in the wii, otherwise your paths wont be shown when you open up either the app, or injected channel, iv'e not given you my injected channel, iv'e done enough, now do it yourself!
iv'e made a thread of this! check it out!

Isn't there a simpler way to do all this?! Wish they would come out with a VLC Wii...would make my life so much easier...hehe...because that is what I use on all my pc's in the house and they stream off my main pc with no problems.... if there is an easier way...I am listening... When I get home from work today I will look into finding an editor that will work and not corrupt it... I saw one floating around that will edit all kinds of file types... I haven't used this method on the Wii, yet... I have used Mplayer to load off the usb but not wifi stream... What is file type again? for the configuration on Geexbox?

Thanks
And this is the shit I can usually figure out without much thought...dammit!

called Network, its in GEEXBOX, etc folder
This mplayerwii is shit hot, this is me for example.i have 3 hard drives, you can even share dvd drives.....
anyway, i have a folder in each root hard drive, named things like films, music, movies etc, etc
alls you do is put in the path like i have shown numerous times even in the link i have above are many photos...
and then put all your divx,/folders in there, mplayerwii can locate the path immediately over wifi, and can browse inside the folder, within other folders to play whatever divx music file you want even if you locating your divx from say 5 folders etc, SHIT HOT

hi, is there a more comfortable way, than always modifying the config file when i want to add some youtube videos?
i always have to put my sd card into the pc and type in the stream i want to watch, thats pretty stressy. it would be nice if there was a smoother way.
i hope somebody can help me

no idea, i just modified the config file of mplayer and it worked, but its annoying, having got to go to the pc everytime you want to see something different

another question: anyone knows good links for streaming media, such as movies series, sports (football(i mean soccer for u americans))???

lets see, how many people know good links. maybe we could open a new topic for that issue

i stream youtube videos by putting the youtube link into keepvid.com and then i copy the link of the mp4 (high quality) link.
this is not a good way cause i believe that the keepvid links dont exist too long. anybody has another way to stream youtube vids via mplayer?

i tried to stream videos from veetle.com which would be really great bit didnt manage it. anyone got any clue if its possible to stream from veetle?

No there isn't, blimy it's not hard to just edit the config, use ftpii to send back & forth, if that's easier, the config is needed, and doubt it will be replaced, there is no way to browse youtube...
so just edit your config or just use your shares on your pc..
glad you got it working though!

you could, of course, simply browse youtube. opera works like a charm with youtube, why use mplayer?

very true, opera on wii, you need a large LCD, otherwise you have to keep scrolling loads!
still good though...
true , and it's handy for redtube and spankw............. , and all the extra goodies

The only thing about streaming off the internet is... the bandwidth is slow if you are downloading torrents... so until something a little easier comes out....I cam going to just wait I suppose...

You would think that you could just browese the network folders with one command line in the config... but I keep getting solme sort of message about not being able to connect to it... and I know damn well I can access these same drives on my other pc's in the house... with no password, etc.

Hmm... We need VLC Wii dammit... it's also an open source... wander what it would take to get it to work for the Wii...maybe a smaller version of VLC?

Screw it...
