Moving from ReinX to Atmosphere -- Looking for best guide

I think this question is off-topic, but since we're here..
I've blanked my serial long ago using incognito, do I need to write it back before updating to 17.0.0?
Not saying I want to update right now, but I could make a mental note for whenever I'll update.

If you've lost it or want to keep using blank. Just use DNSMITM and block Nintendo's servers. Problem solved.

No I haven't lost it, I just want to retain the ability of connecting to internet to update homebrews and such.
So as long as I add the following to /atmosphere/hosts/sysmmc.txt (I'm not using emuNAND) I'll be fine?

Afaik you can update to 17.0.0 without disabling prodinfo blanking. If I understand correctly, you can leave blanking enabled on 17.0.0. But you shouldn't connect to nintendo's servers (that won't work anyway if atmospheres dns mitm is enabled). Because otherwise the crash pops up. See also this reply and this one.
