Will ModMii ever have it's ARC fork merged?
Maybe? I don't think we ever had more than a handful of testers. No one reported issues with it, but I'm hesitant to package anything with modmii that hasn't been thoroughly tested. Thinking out loud now, I could possibly include it in addition to the current ARC used in ModMii with an extra warning and to only use it if they don't have access to a regular non wiimote plus remote. It's not that much of a priority for me right now tbh, super busy IRL, it might be TMI, but I'm currently changing jobs/countries with young kids, exciting times to say the least!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So.... modmii.000webhostapp.com stopped working, I have no idea for how long. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I noticed before anyone else reported it! I got it back up and running but this time at modmiiwii.000webhostapp.com

At the same time I noticed all the pics from the first post, hosted at tinypic.com, stopped working because they shut the site down. So I updated the links and reuploaded new images so the first post doesn't look broken. During the process I got sick of looking at the old modmii.zzl.org banner so I quickly photoshopped it out

before
modmiibanner - Copy.png

after
modmiibanner.png

TLDR:
I updated the first post with modmii's latest web address modmiiwii.000webhostapp.com

edit: if there are any bored ModMii fans out there [I'm talking to you @alexander1970 , lol :) ] you should try reading through the the full changelog here. Seriously I can't believe I ever had that time to just write that changelog let alone modmii itself, seriously go check and see just how long this f'ing changelog is. So if you manage to read through the whole changelog you are a beast.... for the rest of us maybe just just skim through it looking for changelog jokes! For a long stretch there I ended all my changelogs with 1 nerdy joke... man, I was telling dad jokes before I became a dad that's hilarious. /rant, peace y'all
This got pushed to the previous page way too quickly

We all know for sure, how many work it is to have Family and "Kids" today, for that:

I kneel down for you and throw myself in the dust with admiration.

Good evening, I recently did an offline softmod of my wii using ModMii.
I used the option to only softmod without any USB-loader etc.
I added wiiflow lite myself manually afterwards and when booting into it it couldn't seem to find my hdd at all, my HDD is confirmed to be compatible so that's weird. So i tried with USB Loader GX and then it actually works, it finds my games on the HDD and I'm able to launch them... However the screen resolution seems to change to the 576i mode when I start certain games; the behavior is strange in other words.

I'm thinking to myself that I might've been missing out on something when softmodding so I ran the SysChecker HDE and verified the file in ModMii and it said it was fine, here's the result:

Depending on the version of wiiflow you used it may not support FAT32 hard drives. If you prefer wii flow the version that comes with modmii should work with similar compatibility to USB loader gx.

Your wii is PAL, are the games that behave oddly US games?

Hey XFlak thanks for your quick reply.
No non of the games are NTSC, all of them are PAL. Either how, I think it got rather stable after changing the option in USBLoaderGX to "Force 480p PAL", but I don't know how correct it is to use this forced method.
Are games generally gonna change the screen resolution even though it's clearly set up to 480p wide screen in the wii settings?
For the wiiflow I downloaded the latest version of WiiFlow Lite. Didn't know it dropped support for FAT32 drives, but if that's really the case, then I know why!

Support hasn't been dropped, if you're using the latest version of wii flow and it's not working then the issue could be unrelated.

Happy to hear your video issues seem to be resolved now. I think it is common for resolution changes when loading games, but my memory is a bit fuzzy in this specifically so take with a grain of salt.

Alright I see, well then I need to do some further investigation. Anyhow, thanks for the fast responses and the support!
I'll report back if I figure out why wiiflow lite isn't working accordingly.

Take care!

Hi I am just looking for some guidance.
About a year ago I softmodded my 4.3e wii with letterbomb. Installed bootmi as iOS because boot2 was not an option.

Then I got over excited and skipped priiloader to install the cios's to use usb loader gx. Now I figured I would install priiloader before I tried more advanced setups.

But on the first page of the priiloader website it says it should be installed BEFORE any ios/cios alterations.

Can modmii help me reverse my cios tinkering so I can install priiloader and then the cios's.

Thanks

Hello.:)

You can install PRIILOADER now.:)
Nothing to "reverse",no worries.:)

It is not like BootMii to do a NAND Backup now with installed/changed cIOSes.

Thank you.:)

Thanks for the fast reply. I think I understand what you are saying , bootmi has an untainted NAND backup to work with should I ever need it.

I was more worried about priiloader relying on the altered IOS/cios configuration as a base. So if were to ever change them priiloader may become "confused" causing problems. I think that may have caused someone else issues when they launched their updated usbloder/cios setup.

For peace of mind is modmii able to stub my alterations or scrub them so priiloader can work with the "base" configurations. Basically can I truly unmod my wii without remnants and redo the hack using modmii?

Apologies for bad jargon, I'm a bit green behind the ears and bound to have used the wrong terms

As I said,it is not necessary to "unmod" your Wii.

PRIILOADER is a simple but very good Brick-Protection if something goes wrong and you can not longer boot into Homebrew Channel or the Wii´s System Menu.
You can try to boot an Application from it to recover your Wii.

BootMii is a little More with the additional Option to Recover the Wii with an NAND Backup without loading an extra Application.
And if installed as boot2 (if possible) an near 99 Percent Safe Brick Protection AND works without an GameCube Controller or WiiMotion Controller.

The better Way is,to install PRIILOADER now as to try to unmod your Wii and something goes wrong without them....:)

Thank you.:)

You can resoftmod your wii as if it were a virgin using its main wizard, some steps may be redundant and unnecessary but they're fast and there's no harm in repeating them.

Alternatively you can provide modmii with a Syscheck.csv and it will generate a custom guide for u to follow that will have u update and overwrite ONLY whats out of date

Thanks for the reply. I have read great things about modmii so I would like to use it. I want to emunand ultimately which I believe is in there.

If I provide a syscheck will modmii guide me as to the best way to install priiloader?

Just trying to get the best brick protection.

Thanks to Alexander too for their replies

Does the usb loader setup still work with the nintendo servers being down? On the NUS auto downloader I mean.

And also, can I still use modmii even though I did everything through letterbomb and cios installer? I'm just having trouble with my drive and I wonder if it could help me.
