Quick question: when saving my game let’s say smw (snes) while using the wiiflow plug-in (snes9gx) But when I come back to play there is no save files. Where does wiiflow save the retro game saves? Or is there a way for me to change its directory of where it saves? I know when you use the standalone emulator it goes to there individual save folder but that doesn’t appear to be the case? Any information or help is appreciated

Hey XFlak, just wanted to say that Microsoft Edge is saying that both the installer and the portable version couldn't download the file because it "had a virus".

Hey XFlak, just wanted to say that Microsoft Edge is saying that both the installer and the portable version couldn't download the file because it "had a virus".
He mentioned on his website that it's a false-positive and I doubt that he can do anything about it. It's perfectly fine to use it, I personally had no issues whatsoever and I've been using for a few years to fix / hack some of the broken / outdated Wiis I've bought over time.

I tried out of curiosity to put my syscheck and Modmii suggest to install a bunch of IOS that I've never dealed with.

11,20,30,31,36,40,50,52,60,62,70, 80 and some stub IOS as well.

Is it really necessary? I've been using the system perfectly fine. Looking around for example, IOS11 was used only for System Menu 2.0 and 2.1, or IOS20 is only for 2.2.

What advantage would doing any of this bring?

Disable modmii's extra brick protection option and feed your syscheck to it again

Those are there to protect against user error and accidental downgrades or upgrades that would normally cause brick. Modmii's system menu ios's use shared content so having it in multiple slots won't take up a lot of storage space

Stub ios's will just help u clean out other stuff that u don't need, u can skip it if u want.

Building stubs is fast and doesn't take up a bunch of space. And modmii's system menu ios are all based on the same system menu ios (ios60) so it just needs to download ios60 once in order to build all those extra protection system menu ios's.

New user here, having some while-using-the-modded-stuff trouble.

Wii Menu v4.3U, ModMii 7.0.2.

Used LetterBomb to hack, using a 64 GB SD card and a 256 GB SSD for storage. Mainly trying to make use of USB Loader GX and Nintendont.

So far, BootMii, PriiLoader, Homebrew Channel and USB Loader GX all will run, and I can even show backups in the USBLGX list with fancy box art. But then the issues start.

1. Navigation *out* of any mod-related app (HBC, Priiloader, YAWMM, USBLGX, etc.), back to either the Wii UI (System menu?) or the Homebrew Channel when available, results in a black screen with green Wii power light, requiring a power cycle of the console. My n00b sense is telling me it's a forwarder problem, but I honestly don't know where to look. I've tried most of the Priiloader Autoboot and Return To settings to no avail.

2. Sort of an app question, but sort of a ModMii one: the Wii titles will load in USBLGX, but the Gamecube ones won't. I can generally run GC titles in Nintendont just fine, but trying to run them in USBLGX first complaints about the location of the Nintendont .dol file, then when I fix it to see the one on the SD card, running any of them results in a black screen and green power light scenario. Seems like something ModMii did didn't quite work out for GC titles, or might possibly be related to the navigation lockup in issue 1 above.

Any help? Thanks for indulging a n00b with good intentions.

Guide (I picked the Your Chosen Options section because as a new member I don't have permissions to post much more complex info, seems like; please let me know what other info I can post to be helpful!):

Do u have any peripherals connected to the device (other than sd or usb)? Try removing them. If u have the hbc installed and it blackscreens when exiting something strange is going on, likely having nothing to do with the softmod process since there aren't a lot moving pieces for the hbc to operate properly.

What are your priiloader return to autoboot settings set to now?

Can u post a syscheck? https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Thanks for answering!

The only peripheral I have attached other than SD, HDD and (stock) sensor bar is an HDMI dongle.

In Priiloader my Autoboot is set to System Menu and Return To is set to Autoboot, but I've experimented with lots of options for those with little effect I could tell.

Thanks for the link to Syscheck! Here's mine:

Syscheck looks good. I'm not sure what the cause of this is. I'm not even sure if it's software related, but if it is, restoring a virgin ohneschwanzenegger generated nand.bin might resolve it, or possibly even reinstalling some system files by "region changing" to your current region. If u don't have bootmii boot2 it carries a bit of risk, but not a huge amount, and u may find yourself back in the same situation anyway

Alternatively try a different sd card or backup and format the SD Card to FAT32 the right way.

Cheap SD cards may cause problems after using them for a while.

Ohneschwanzenegger? That's pretty dang funny. :-D Guess I've got some research to do. Ditto for region changing. Could disabling the "Region Free EVERYTHING" Priiloader hack have any effect here? Guessing not, but hey, I'm a n00b. I'll try it.

If it's not software related, would could the hardware cause be? Something as low level as bad capacitors?

The SD card is new, Sandisk, bought for the purpose, and reformatted to FAT32, as is the HDD.

Fixed!

I moved all my stuff over from the HDD to the SD card, trued up all the paths for USB Loader GX, and now everything (everything!) is working swimmingly. Clearly my problem was the HDD. I'll have a look at the HDD compatibility list before I grab another, but in the meantime my 64 GB SD card seems to be working wonderfully. In game , exit from game, Wii, Gamecube, it's all just working now. Just have to see whether there's a good way to get rid of the "Press A to go to SD Card Mode" prompt at the start of USB Loader GX; I'm sure I'll find it.

Thanks for your patience with me!
