PS1/2 Moding the PS2 Fat

I was wondering if there was anyway of doing this without soldering anything so I can play pirate games. I know there a sticky on this but I don't have an action replay or know ayone that does and I was wondering if there was a way to do it with out it

Normally I wouldn't even bother but a few of my games are in bad condition (serves me right for lending them) and are unplayable

I did it without a swap magic/action replay on my phat and slim ps2 used a few guides to make the disk needed with the ulaunch.elf and a usb drive with the freemcboot install on it. just swapped the disk manually and installed freemcboot and I play pal and ntsc games with no problems just patch them first the only problems you have is with cd games
