forget 236....

just follow this guide EVERY SINGLE WORD

I have successfully mod 2 Japanese Wii using this guide.

This is a really really good guide.

SIMPLE. And, more importantly, OFFLINE !

Thanks a LOT !

I've used this tutorial 1000000000000000 times, and allways with success.
However, yesterday a friend of mine bought a LEH wii and tried to mod it.

First he got DSI dumps all over, then he changed to TBR MOD (since he is on 4.2).

Even being with him on every step and he managed to install TBR successfully (all went as expected), still gives a 1035 error while instaling cIOS.

Managed to install cIOS202 and 250, no other with 1035 error all the way.
Anyone has ever seen this?

hi xzxero
i see you have updated the guide on 26 nov with the below parts

Added cIOS38 rev15 in the modify.zip, some official IOS's in the update.zip

im using the guide just before the updated version
is there much different from the earlyer one i used?
what does the cios rev15 do and what about the official ios's
thanks

The question of DSTTSTINKYCARD also concerns me.
I have modded my wii successfully with the previous guide (14 november) to v4.2. If i want to modify my wii with the newest guide (26 nov) and etc when a new guide comes up, i must do all the things from the beginning (first update to 4.2 and them modify 4.2) or i must update only the new stuff?

Did you double check Any Title Deleter to see if you missed a stub IOS?

I might have missed that, however i tought it was only for nonvirgins consoles.
This was a Virgin console...so i tought no need.

Is this it?

Okay, I've done everything exacly as this guide told me, but every time I'm opening AnyTitleDeleter MOD,it gives me this:

informing wii that i am god... error! ES_Identify (ret=-1017)

Using the IOS provided in the guide.

Anyone? I've tried googling it, but couldn't find any solutions. Is the step on removing the stub IOS's that important? I'm planning on installing Hermes to run USB-loader. Can I use another IOS or something?

PS: I've used this guide before with success, dunno why it failed this time.

Thx!

Wow, angry fella. Why? Common, it's friday

I was just asking a question. I still have an issue with es_identify error ret=-1017 :/

And I have followed it. I have done it twice without a problem with other Wii's, but this won't go. All the previous steps in the guide worked flawlessly.

Thanks for the tip, though.. ^^

Was wondering, do I need to install cMIOS_rev3 after completing the steps in this tut, or is that already done?

Since i didn't get an answer for my question i am goin to try again.

I just updated a month ago with the guide, and now some more ios files is added, there were only 25 ios before? I want to know if i have to install them just manually, without any change and is it nescessary? How come more files are added anyway? My wii seems to run just fine.

Nothing is really new,
The essential's are always there
HBC
Trucha
cIOS
SM hacks

You dont have to start over from the beginning everytime
just know what got updated and if you want it.

for eg;
cIOS rev15 is now included
find out what it is, its pros and cons, then come back and decide if you want it.
official IOS updates, i just added some IOS's i seen on NUSD like IOS4, IOS40, etc
nothing special.

So, and I think is what people want to know, is it safe to take the extra ios in the new packs and just install them.

yes it is safe, they wouldn't be there if it wasn't... but u have to know what your getting into when it comes down to installing cIOS249...

rev 15 supports dual layer games, but its not compatible with neogamma or softchip, you would have to use uloader (or a mod of neogamma, not done by wiipower but by some1 else)

rev 14 is perfect if u ask me, it plays all my usb backups and all my disk backups (with the exception of dual-layer games, which I dont even have)
