Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that the next Zelda for Wii will have “player friendly” controls.

“For us, it is important to the to optimise gameplay and make the controls easier,” he told GamingMedia recently during a video interview.

“We do our best to make the controls player friendly, since Zelda has become complicated.

”He also adds the game will surprise people, although wouldn’t be more specific as to how that would happen.“For us, two things are important: to meet expectations and to surprise people. How we do it this time, I will not reveal,” said Miyamoto.

“Normally, we create the video sequences, and these sequences are expanded. But this time we started with the game structure. And then with the video sequences. So this time it was reversed. Therefore, we have had little so far from the game to show. But will publish a lot close to the game’s completion.

”The new title was briefly teased by Miyamoto during a roundtable he hosted at E3 last year with a piece of concept art from the event, but this year’s event is expected to lift the cover off the game. Please, something like this, Shigs.

Complicated? Really?

I hope this game doesn't end up being another victim of the "casual crowd" cancer.
This.
Has Zelda ever been player friendly?
I hope they've got more puzzles, Twilight Princess was pretty easy, except for the statues puzzle before you get the Master Sword.
I also don't hope that player friendly means easy. They need to make harder it less easy. Or at least a difficulty selection... or something like that.

Nintendo have always tried to make controls as simplified as possible. I guess what they mean is not having so many buttons to remember, not something I'd have problems with.

People though New Super Mario Wii would be catered to the "casual" crowd but it certainly had a few moments that tested me with some of the later worlds.

My first Zelda was Phantom Hourglass, and I enjoyed both the control scheme, and the difficulty.
Most of the puzzles even cause my jaw to drop after solving them (especially the ones where you have to shout into the mic to put out 2 torches)

Now, I don't know how Zelda is on the Wii, but I hope it's about the same difficulty.

Easier controls? Why not just release a bloody DVD then? What is so hard to understand about "a control stick controlling the character"? Sometimes I think that Nintendo assume that everyone are idiots. Then they prove me wrong and I love them for it.

Whenever Nintendo says "player friendly," they mean they're dumbing down the game. A lot.
They've yet to dumb down a key franchise of theirs.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.

He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
