Well On disk DLC is just greed and theft also. However saying all DLC is wrong is not entirely true. There is certain DLC which is good and worth the money. Things like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption "Undead Nightmare" and GTA4 "Lost and the Damned" and "The Ballads of Gay Tony". Things like that which add a new story, modes and all sorts. Other things that come to mind are Oblivion "Shivering Isles" and Star Wars Force Unleashed "Sith Stories".

I can't fault any company for wanting to save money. However, I also think that any DLC that is made alongside the game, and is finished and included on the original game disc is complete greed. Just let me be clear, I've always supported DLC. I almost always buy used, and I almost always buy any associated DLC, so I know that when I buy DLC from Xbox Live, I help out the developer more than buying that used game did. Disc locked DLC is just a slap in the face to gamers, and the companies that host said DLC. Rydian, and several other have posted why dick locked DLC is just wrong, so I don't have anything other than these 2 cents to add.

At least they know they can't (yet) get away with charging full-game price for DLC. :P
It depends on the business model

unlocking extra content has always been done in software. for example design software like alias maya back in the day. depending on your license you could unlock maya complete or unlimited from the same installation.

i don't like the idea of on disc dlc, but i just can't argue that it should be illegal.

purposely selling an incomplete game for the sake of selling you the rest later tho, that is simply unethical.
