So PAL Users: Use IOSPatcher and patch it to IOS249 !!!.

I use WIIScrubber to extract those three files, then use UltraEdit to do modification.

You got it wrong I asked for the steps to get the game in english please read the thread. But I don't need the steps anymore since the PPF Patch worked perfectly for me. And I got rid of my EU Wii a long time ago

Is it possible to load other files from SD card with a modified MyToy too.
So not only the main.dol.

I have an NTSC Wii 3.4U. No modchip.

Didn't test the game with its default IOS, but it works in Gamma patched to 249. Both Japanese and the English patch.

It won't work for you from the disc channel, after patching it's trucha signed!

Which IOS does the game use normally? If it's IOS37 or higher, you need to trucha patch that IOS manually to be able to play the game from the disc channel. And if it's IOS36 or lower it could be, you aren't really at 3.2, were you ever at a higher firmware?

I don't even know how to load backups from the disc channel. Neither GC or Wii ones show up there. Only retail games do.

it uses IOS35 but if you don´t change anything on the ISO it runs fine only after changing the DOL´s
i needed to patch it to IOS249 and then it starts with the patched files.

If your IOS35 had the trucha bug fixed i would expect:
unpatched game ==> works
patched game ==> doesn't work


If you set SoftChip to IOS35 and it tells as revision of IOS35 anything > 1042, then it's crap.

Here are my results on a 3.2E Wii without cIOS corp and with a French patched game:

Doesn't work on softchip R86 (freeze after selecting normal or veteran mode).
Doesn't work with Menu Patcher 1.1 (reboot after selecting normal or veteran mode).
Works on Gamma 0.3.

I'll try older versions of SoftChip.

EDIT : same problem with softchip r75.

Which file(s) need to be patched? Only the main.dol?

I've checked the md5 sums of all the files between the original and the patched game.
Three files are changed : rs5fe_p.dol, rs5mp1jpn_p.dol and main.dol.

In main.dol (and in rs5fe_p.dol, it's exactly the same file), at offset 0x005359B0, "ENGLGERMFRENSPANITALDUTCJAPN" is replaced by "JAPNGERMFRENSPANITALDUTCENGL"
In rs5mp1jpn_p.dol, at offset 0x00478038, "ENGLGERMFRENSPANITALDUTCJAPN" is replaced by "JAPNGERMFRENSPANITALDUTCENGL".

These are the only changes.

Yep, it works in French but there are unicode problems : no "éèàç"...
And the translations are the same as the GC version ("memory card A" when saving).

So they don´t even changed the translation

And about the "éèàç" i think they are not in the font graphic i have the same with "äöü" for german.
And it was the same problem for Dead Rising.

Even though it has been addressed here it is anyways:

1. Use the program ppf-o-matic3 to patch the iso to english

2. Use IOSPATCHER 1.1 on the ISO like this:
extract the patcher
drag and drop the iso over the program executable
now when it says enter a number higher then 3, enter 249 then hit the enter key.

3. backup launcher 0.3 gamma your way to happiness!

Alright guys there PPF patch is here. Please be aware this is UNTESTED though as I have run out of disks. If what people are saying about modifications to the other dol files is true though then this should work fine.

Test at your own will, but be aware it may not work.

And for all the Europeans who have the resetting problem, don't forget to load through GeckoOS and force NTSC mode to make it get in game.

EDIT: Had a quick test and it all seems to work fine. The save menu also works fine which used to be in japanese whatever I did.
I did used to have bugs where the english text was too big for the box but I haven't encountered it so far. It may still be in there though.

If you are going to be doing stuff like this in the future, I highly recommend RW. They work great on any testing I do.

Well it seems the game doesn't work with SoftChip at all. I have no idea why, or why it works with Gamma.
