I am looking for any large metroid/samus poster, or store displays/standups..

My son is turning 10 next week and I'd like to throw him a Metroid themed birthday party!

I would even settle for some high-res pics I can print out to make a large poster..

I'm gonna make metroid and morph ball plates and a metroid cake as well.. Just
need a large Samus Aran poster or standup..

I didn't have any luck with store displays, but there's much more in the way of posters.

Would something like that be good? You can find the whole list here (though some of them probably wouldn't be a good fit for his party for, uh, obvious reasons).

It sounds like you have a pretty awesome party in mind for your son; I'm sure he's going to love it.

Edit: You might get some better/more appropriate choices here.

Thanks!

I think I may get some 8-bit images and take them to my local print shop and have them printed out huge!
Life size Samus, huge 5 foot Metroids, etc..

That should be fun!

Have you been to your local game shops and asked if they might have such stand-ups left over from previous promotions?
It's worth a shot.

Your son is a lucky boy. I wish you luck in finding the decorations you've got in mind.

I don't have much to contribute, except making or getting a hat that looks like a Metroid. You know, birthday kid gets a hat, give your kid a Metroid! :D

I don't know if your son would like a cosplay's poster. I'm just showing them to fans.

Real life samus!

It's the first time I see the "new" costumes from 2010, they are better than the first one from 2007, more metal-looking, and there's also the building process.

Edit:
Please, could you take and show us some photos from your Metroid cake once done?
I would like to see your themed cake :)

oh my fucking god I just had a 3d print fail, while printing the most expensive filament I've ever printed
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
It's PLA filament from ProtoPasta with copper metal particulate mixed into the plastic blend. It's $100/kg, and my failed print is 149g of it.

i wonder who'll wini the price war now with intel in the fray

then again they always say "Three's a crowd"
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@chrisrlink, does anyone really care though? Intel has never really been known for graphics performance, aside from the amazing transcode capabilities of Intel Quicksync. I can't see PC gamers for example moving over to Intel any time remotely soon since Intel hasn't established a position yet in the higher end gaming GPU market
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
More options is never a bad thing, of course. I just don't think it's going to cause any meaningful disruption to the stranglehold that Nvidia and AMD have

At least not for quite a few years

@Sicklyboy They do look like really good cards though. They have insane value (Not A-series value but still more than the 7600)

@Sicklyboy it hasn't released yet so we don't have review but here are intel provided benchmarks:

    I thought that said 10x (10 TIMES) faster than a 4060 lmaoooo
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
    I was like yeah, OK.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm definitely interested to see how that pans out. Like I said, more options is never a bad thing. I mean, bad for intel maybe if it totally flops. But for real, hopefully it works well and there's more competition in the gaming GPU space.
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
@Sicklyboy The first one says %36 faster than the 4060 but I think the second one is right since the first one I screenshotted from a yt video
