NeoDS plays neo geo rom files compatible with MAME.
Mame is freeware, go download it and test out your rom.. if it works in MAME it should work in NeoDS.

I suggest to do a search for the NeoDS thread (in User Submitted News i think) and quickly read it over, there should be enough info for you to get it working.

Admittedly disappointingly, Metal Slug Anthology is one of the games I've poured most hours into on Wii.

This. Is going. To be. Awesome.

Contra's way too hard and not fun enough to make me practice at it.

i agree.. Contra was fun when playing with friends years ago as it is now.. but crazy hard to beat.. I always preferred MS simply cause it looked cleaner and grenades.. now if we could only aim diagonally...

Do you mean in Contra 4 aim diagonally or MS? I'n MS, you just press up+left/right and shoot. It worked in the arcades...

theres no such thing as diagonal shoots in MS (unless you're using the machine gun), all you could do was move left or right while shooting up... while in contra, you could do it (and if you push certain button, you could even do "standing" diagonal shots)..
