The Mass Effect 3 Demo has just been given the release date of February 14th for PCs, PS3 and Xbox 360. It includes the game's opening sequence (which you can play as either a male or female Shepard) and a chance to try out the franchise's new stab at multiplayer (People who bought an online pass for Battlefield 3 can play it immediately; everyone else will have to wait 3 days).
People who play this demo can access exclusive content in the retail release of Kingdoms of Amalur (If I'm not mistaken, just some different armor and a weapon), so if you're interested in that game at all, then you might as well give it a shot.
Though it isn't mentioned in the article, I'm assuming that any experience earned in the demo (up to a few levels) can be carried over to the main game.
