Yeah... using GoogleTranslate (and other such software translators) is a GREAT way to piss off -REAL- translators and the people editing the text.

hey I dont know if anyone knows about this software "babylon" but it translate anything. So if you need a quicker way to translate the text in the game give that a shot and see where it takes you
Machine translation (Google, Babblefish, babylon, etc) are never accurate since there are nuances that get lost without having an idea of what is trying to be said.

oh . . Sorry I did not know it was not accurate

i think when people try to help you guys with suggestions. no matter what that suggestions are. you should be thankful but Twiztidsinz post: Yeah... using GoogleTranslate (and other such software translators) is a GREAT way to piss off -REAL- translators and the people editing the text. don't sound thankful. only thing we want is to that the translation will be so fast as posible. but yeah.

Bad translations are actively unhelpful since they need to be cleaned out or the real translators might skip the line thinking it's already done. So no, we shouldn't be thankful for that.

Yes, please refrain from posting translated items if you are not 100% certain.

Btw DarthNemesis you have done a great deal to assist us. If only I could find some way to repay you. That picture you posted looks great, lemme know when the repacker is finished so I can make an attempt at editing in translated text.

I understand everyone is anxious about the speed of the translation of Maplestory DS!
Please do not worry, we are fluent Korean speakers working.

If you are looking for a way to help out,
please become a Maplestory DS editor!

Visit the translation site (on the first post of this thread)
and look through the already-translated material to correct grammatical mistakes and gibberish.

If a sentence looks run-on or could be written in a smoother way, please comment on it!
The translators will look at it again and make sure your new sentence can work.

Can't wait for this translation to be done.

I've been playing GMS for a couple years now and would be more than willing to translate item and character names. And I'm not stupid enough to assume I'm right and not double/triple check everything.

I'd also like to help with any editing if it's needed.

If you don't need the help I'll still be editing and providing feedback, so I wish you guys good luck and can't wait to see the final result.

I only thing I could do would be run terms through Google Translate and translate Engrish to English. I'm also very familiar with MS terms and I've use Hidden-street.net before.

I would much rather have good translation than a bad translation. Even if it means it's a two year wait. Quality is better.

Thanks, I've tried it out and it's pretty nice. Yet I was wondering...could I start translating things now, or should I wait for you to complete this translator utility?

Go ahead, you'll just have to back up your text files and copy them over after extracting with the final version.

K thanks, I'll start translating little bits of the menu to get some practice with this. I'll be sure to backup completed text files.

Anyways to others looking forward to the patch here is the plan of attack:
-Completed menu translation
-Move on to story

Remember than when translating, don't just translate the text, it has to give the same information.

Might a suggest a revised plan of action?

- Complete menu translation
- Complete Item & Description translation
- Complete Monster & Book translation
- Move on to Story translation

The Item and Monsters shouldn't take very long (especially compared to the story) and a lot more people will be happy with "just" Menu/Item/Monster.
