These are all BS have never had these issues with my switch
Everyone say it with me:
Just because you haven't personally experienced the problem does not mean said problem doesn't exist.
I don't know why that concept seems to be so hard for people to grasp

It's funny when people are like, "But Sony/Microsoft." The thing is, Nintendo has spent 30 years trying to provide top quality products and proper testing. My N64 is 20 years old and a launch system, no issues, my Wii is a launch Wii, no issues. But now Nintendo is starting to to slip up and should be called out on that. These aren't issues people are going out of their way to find, these are happening pretty easily. Something like the left controller not working should have been fixed before launch. The dock damaging the system should have been looked into before launch and so much more that shouldn't be part of the launch. If this were beta testing, this would be acceptable, but it's not beta testing.

I always felt the dock was kind of sketchy.... Plastic on plastic? Did they not learn anything from the 3DS?

My Genesis, PS1 and Dreamcast all work great too. It's a common problem with everyone now a days. Nintendo has had its fair share of fuck ups with consoles post N64.. and yes, the Wii.

Yes, a lot of these issues should have been caught well before production.. The Dock and the joycons being the big two.

I didn't buy a PS4 at launch and decided to wait for a better price because there were no games I really wanted to play. My brain said "good and reasonable decision", my gamer-heart said "I want to have this new system". I was so happy about every report about issues with the PS4 and was searching the internet for them. :D

What about the GameCube? Not mentioning the disc system that is....

And PS4 and Xbox One still have freezes and crashes with games ;)
LOL, my Dad's PS4 froze while he was playing the telltale batman game. We had to unplug it. It wouldn't shut off. Also, when I had one, I had numerous issues. The worst one being that the console would turn on randomly and eject the disk. Nothing I tried would fix this. My XB1 and Switch work fine.

I was on the Homebrew Browser on my vWii and it once crashed, I held the power button but no avail, had to unplug it to turn it off, then it booted automatically... I had to launch the quick start menu and launch something to make it do anything.

So you're saying hacked together unofficial software can make your console crash? Good to know.

I haven't had any issues with my Switch - apart from actually getting it. My best friend and my parent's Switchs (Switches? Is that right for a title or name?) Are also problem free.

Defects do happen. Some issues are by design - I distinctly remember my circle pad rubbing and marking up my 3ds screen - but others are defects. And while it's terrible, it's natural to hear about defects in/on a gaming device on gaming forums. (or news related ones for that matter.) Just something to keep in mind.
