    hope some one can help my mate updated his wii from 4.1 to 4.2 yesteday using nentendo update and now he can not play backups using the disk channil alll i no about his wii is that it had home brew installed preloader 0.29 and coscorp from what i have read this is what the update has messed up is it possible to make a 4.2 wii a vergin wii and then us a 4.2 softmode guied to re softmod iif so could some post some links to a guied to make the 4,2 wii a vergin again if it is possable

    translation: 4.2 essentially DOES make your Wii a virgin in itself.

    Lol, its funny 'cause its true.

    Anyway,
    OP, when you updated it basically reinstalled everything on the system.
    Try doing one of the sticky guides to get back to loading, though I would recommend that you buy a USB hard drive instead of disk loading as it is safer, faster and generally better in my opinion.
