FYI - MAIO v3.07 added - Same as v3.06.1 but with AKAIO 1.8.8

PLEASE NOTE: I only have a HW:44 AK2i, which I believe cannot be updated (yet) to work on 3DS with v2.1.0 firmware... so unable to check that this'll work on the 3DS

For anyone who wants to know, this works with AKi flashed with the latest. To bad DScraft doesn't work on moonshell...big fan of MAIO btw

Edit: Yeah sorry, should of done that first hand. HW: 81 and both with DSi and 3DS up to date.

Thanks for the confirmation - just to check though....

What HW is your Ak2i [ AKAIO > Start > More > Help ] & what system did you try it on (DSLite/Phat/DSi/3DS)
(I'll add the details to the first post) - I'll still like to know if this works OK on a 3DS (can't see why not though)

What are the homebrew apps you are trying to run?
Yeah important question... to check whether XenoFile can help.

Thanks guys, jurassicplayer suggestion did the trick

It's probably Moonshell2 that is trying to load the homebrew instead of AKAIO. Try going to /moonshl2/extlink and duplicate a copy of _vh.VeryHugeNDSLoader.nds or _hn.HugeNDSLoader.nds (or maybe they are named _xx.inilink.nds respectively. Just rename the duplicate as nds..nds and then see if it works.

I'm sure XenoFile would have launched them because if I exited Moonshell to AKAIO they worked.
They are my own homebrew apps.

Thanks again.

If OK, I'd like to test your app using all 7 loaders.

You shouldn't be quite so sure about that. Xenofile has a variety of ways to load homebrew (see post above xD), one of them being the same method as Moonshell2. While it might turn out that xenofile still has a loader that can run your homebrew, I would agree with letting avenir check (since he can actually make improvements to xenofile, whereas I can't xD).

The fix that I told you was just because I had the gist of what was happening and knew a quick way around it (your homebrew worked with AKAIO, so we just had you make MS2 use AKAIO to load .nds files instead of it's internal homebrew loader).

I have tried this on my DSi 1.4.3U with Acekard 2i and it does not work completely. You can not "exit to firmware" or select the akaio file to access the akaio firmware. The DSi on 1.4.3U just hangs. I also tried to start Super Mario 64 DS from within MoonShell and the screen hangs on a "loading" message. So I don't know what SolidMario did to make it work. If he meant MAIO boots yes it will. It auto boots to Moonshell but thats about it. It doesn't mesh well with akaio firmware after that. Can someone else please confirm my results??

Make a copy of "SD:\moonshl2\extlink\_vh.inilink.nds". Rename the copy to nds.DScraft.nds in the folder SD:\moonshl2\extlink\ . This will now load the homebrew named DScraft.nds with akAIO from moonshell.

Mantis41 did you read my last post? Has anyone read my last post two above? Has anyone with 1.4.3U software got MAIO to work correctly---excluding Solid Mario?

Admittedly I am running 1.4.2. I'll have to update and see what happens.

Edit: I tend not to bother with the DSi online as I hate leaving my router on WEP.

I tried loading Super Mario 64 Ds. It seems to hang on MAIO screen.

Tried it on my 3DS, still hangs.

Thanks a ton, the way you explained it is much easier than the way I saw it in another post.

That aside I'll reconfirm. I am running MAIO v3.07 (re-downloaded to make sure) and my copy of Super Mario 64 DS does indeed work. But I'll state what I have at hand.
v1.4.3U DSi
v2.1.0-4U 3DS
Flashed with AKi update for 3DS2.1 and DSi1.4.3
HW:81 SVN:1107
Patriot 16GB class 4
Also note that the files autorun.inf, akmenu.nds, and acekard_b_c.ico are hidden and cannot be copied highlighting alone.

I can also confirm that 'Super Mario DS (E)' works on DSlite and DSi v1.4.2E, using MAIO 3.7 on a Acekard 2i HW:44.
Unfortunately [AFAIK] HW:44 STILL can't be updated to work on DSi 1.4.3 - so unable to confirm that

That was a mission.

I updated the DS to 1.4.3, patched the acekard and downloaded the USA version of Super Mario 64 (#37). All works fine and all the other ROMs appear to be working normally as well.

I am not sure what the problems could be with jimmyemunoz, and Sheimi's set ups.

**Note** I decided to mess with this today because I was bored and I don't accept defeat too well.

Ok, I figured out the problem and maybe you should add this to the first post or maybe not. I used WinRar to view the 3.07 MAIO.rar archive. While viewing the archive, I highlighted everything (except the "VoiceRec" folder) and extracted them to my micro SD root using the WinRar program --SUCCESS :D . BUT, when I used WinRar to extract to a folder and then highlighted the same folders/files and performed a copy and paste onto the micro sd card it was FAIL every time. So extracting straight from WinRar to the micro sd card will result in a WIN :) Cannon what is the last rom number supported in MAIO 3.07? You know like 4500 and lower or something like that...would be great to know. Thanks guys ;)

The highest/last ROM that MAIO 3.07 can run would be the same as what's the Highest/Last ROM that AKAIO 1.8.8 can support

According to this thread since there's been no updates since August (that I know of) I would guess AKAIO 1.8.8 can run all DS ROM's up to the latest releases (so far)

Give me a moment & I'll go & try '5719 - DreamWorks Super Star Kartz (U)' (gotta find it & download it first)

Well here's the results...
Using MAIO 3.07 (which has AKAIO 1.8.8) I've found/downloaded & tried the following.....

DS #5719: DreamWorks Super Star Kartz (USA) - Passed: Started up & I've gone as far as playing the first track without any problem
DS #5721: One Piece: Gigant Battle 2 - Shinsekai (Japan) - Failed: Got 2 white screens...
(But this COULD be because it's a Japanese ROM being tried on a European DSLite, I've not tried playing foreign ROM's before, so I don't know if this is normal)
