I've received a SanDisk microsd 4 GB SDCH class 2 and still the same problem. I think it is a bug of M3i Zero and not a problem of the micro sd cards

I don't know what more can I do

you have tried the paper trick, right?

by that i mean taping paper to the m3i0's label so it has a better connection

this is weird...

my m3i0's dsorganize works fine on my dsi but when inserted into my friends's dsi it has serious bugs

exact same problem i have.

its an issue regarding the dsi xl, m3i zero, and micro SDHC cards working together.

m3i zero +8gb sdhc + dsi = sleep mode works

m3i zero +8gb sdhc + dsi XL= sleep mode doesnt work

m3i zero +2gb sd +dsi= sleep mode works

m3i zero +2gb sd +dsi XL= sleep mode works

r4i sdhc in any combination of dsi or micro sd= sleep mode works

its annoying because i want to use my new m3i zero with an sdhc card in my new dsi XL but i really want sleep mode

on another note, the only time i got the m3i zero +8gb + dsi XL to work was when i had a fresh full charge in the dsi xl. which i noticed sleep mode stopped working eventually.

Having the exact same problem so I figured I'd add to the thread. I just got an M3i Zero in the mail, flashed it and got some random games to work so I took it with me to work fully charged.

Sleep mode was working for maybe a half hour of playing while at work and it abruptly started just turning off upon closing it. When I got home after work I tried the M3i Zero in a DS Lite and DSi, neither of which was fully charged and it worked fine with both. If I plug my DSi XL into the wall outlet and charge it, sleep mode works perfectly fine.

The card I'm using is a 4gb Sandisk Micro SDHC, has a 2 on it so I'm assuming that's the class.

I'm really hoping I don't have to buy anything new and I can get this working but I'm starting to have doubts since nobody seems to have any idea what could be causing it.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could try?

finally, a solid pattern is being seen in this issue.

hopefully other people have discovered the same similarities and a solution can be found before i decide to sell my new m3i zero.

Just a small update, I went out to Best Buy and bought a cheap Micro SD card, 9.99 for a 2gb one just to find out whether or not it would work. Loaded it up and it is now sleeping properly even though my XL only has half a battery left.

The brand I got was PNY if anyone else is interested in trying one out.

I've emailed both M3 Adapter and the place I got my card from, M3 says they haven't been able to duplicate the error and the place I ordered from said they'd be looking into it. I'll post in the thread if they end up finding anything out, for the time being though I'll just stick with the 2gb card.

its because a 2gb isnt an sdhc card.

it only fails with SDHC cards when not with a fully charged battery.

i have tested 8gb sandisk, pny, and a kingston sdhc cards. all fail on sleep

i saw this from the m3i zero forums.....

"When I first bought a microSDHC card for my DS, I took the highest class I could get, thinking it avoid prevent any lagging problems.
Here's what I got back then : Transcend microSDHC 16GB Class 6.
Then I got the problem where sleep mode would turn off the DS unless the battery is full.

Finally, following your advice, I ordered a cheap SanDisk microSDHC 16GB Class 2, and now everything works perfectly !
It definitely was a SD compatibility problem."

maybe ill buy a slower SDHC card and report back.

but even still.....if getting a slower card solves the problem it isnt actually fixed. there will still be a problem the m3 team should come up with an explanation for.

I'm not sure if they make a slower than Class 2 card that is still Micro SDHC, the 4gb one I was using was Class 2, correct me if I'm wrong though, just don't want you to waste money if that's not it.

nah its cool.

i work for a place that refurbishes and resells the shit that people return to bestbuy.

i get stuff cheap. or free. lol

the class 2 is a slower speed.

the higher the class the higher the speed.

im asuming any sdhc card thats rated faster than a class 4 might give issues.

all of my sdhc cards are class 6

It appears that using the 2gb PNY MicroSD card just gave me more battery life that the XL would go to sleep in. Once I dipped under probably about 50% battery life it is back to not sleeping with either the 2gb card or the 4gb Sandisk MicroSDHC Class 2 card.

At this point I'm just going to give this card to my girlfriend since she's using a DSi and isn't going to upgrade, since M3 won't acknowledge that this is a problem.

Yes, I wouldn't have posted if I wasn't using an XL and M3i Zero.

its cool, i wasnt asking for proof or anything.

i just slapped in a class 2 16gb sandisk. so far it works. im currently discharging my DSi XL so i can test it with a lower battery life.

could it be m3i zero batch specific as well?

edit: ok the damn thing failed to sleep with a sandisk 16gb class 2.

i am just about done with this damn flash card.

im gona give the 16gb another format and try it again but if that doesnt work than i obviously have a shitty m3 and then its off to resale

Same problem here - tried it with 2GB SanDisk and SDHC cards.

Some games work without problems (for example Animal Crossing) but with most games the DSi (XL and regular DSi) turns off instead of going to sleep mode. Emulators work fine btw.

Very strange and it seems there are quite a few people with the same problems when doing some search with google. But unfortunately I still haven't found any information that really helped.

I found that if my DSiXL has 75-100% charge on it (4 bars in menu), sleep mode will work fine, but if it dips below that (3 bars or less in menu), it will not go into sleep.
