Even if it's 50 Mb, my point still stands. An xDSL connection deosn't even reach 25 Mbps with your house actually inside the phone central. And most people in the world have xDSL.

well i don't i have cable 100 Mbps and all i get on switch is 15 Mbps on a wired connection that's weak!
Way to generalize. In Sweden we've been actively building fiber since 2004. It's not even uncommon to have well above 50 Mb.
Mb is megabit, MB is megabyte.
1000 Mb is 125 MB.
I live at only 4.5 kilometers from Paris and I only got the fiber since 2014. My box currently delivers 100 Mbps, but 4 years ago I had cable that peaked at 22 Mbps, and before that, ADSL2 that peaked at 4 Mbps.

i don't know where you live in france, but north of france here, 41 000 citizens only, i have a gigabit internet... And there is a lot of ctities around Lille where i live that have that...

No, he's right, for 60€ you have a lot of movies channels, discovery channels like NatGeo Wild or else, some unlimited VOD, exclusive series channel that broadcast US series same time as US (like for game of thrones, walking dead ect),
and exclusives sport channels that broadcast this or this european league. And of course 1gigabit internet, unlimited phone calls on a lot of countries and you can watch every channel or replay on smartphones and tablet ect. All of that with "smart media center internet boxes" with 4k, bluray player and some other stuff. Thats really the most advanced thing we have in our country, triple pay offers.

Are people really upset about this? It's a HUGE increase from the previous generations. Not to mention, there are a lot more people with <60mbps download speeds.
I mean, I'm CONTENT with it, they FINALLY fucking support 5 GHz. If I can get 50 Mbps from the eShop then that's acceptable, considering PSN, for example, has absolute horse shit speeds, at least in Sweden, whereas Steam will ALWAYS pump out the absolute fucking max.
If it isn't bottlenecking somewhere else, it's still illogical though, especially the EXACT 50 mark (fast.com literally reaches 49 but not higher). I mean, it feels weird to support ethernet (I know, stability™) and 5 GHz only to limit it at 50 after all. You can even reach around the 50 mark with DSL..I feel like it's soft capped, but I can't for the life of me imagine why, other than an horribly retarded theory that I don't even wanna talk about..

Nobody can confirm any, because USB 3.0 hasn't been enabled by Nintendo yet. They've stated they will enable it with a future update, so nobody knows for sure. But if I had to guess, the USB 3.0/1Gb adapters that work on the Wii and Wii U should theoretically work.
Definitely feels like a software cap.
It will be interesting to see if they do work as the wireless caps at 50Mb, but my guess is that it will not matter as the eShop is probably capped somewhere is the 50Mb range anyway.
EDIT: it is a cap, I redirected one of the speedtest files via Charles and got ~49Mb on Nintendo's built-in speedtest.

In the US (specifically east Texas), we can get about 30-60 Mbit/s for $65-70. That's considered fast. I always thought super fast network cards were future proofing.
Where my parents live, 40-300 kbit/s is the fastest available and the same price.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1
