I wonder if anyone found better speaker for GBA that fits in the case.

I removed original speaker and placed one from KORG Monotron (pictured below), it fits perfectly. It sounds little louder, high-mid frequencies are more detailed. But i want something better!

I own Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, its louspeker sounds great and i'm wondering if I need additional amp to drive it to use with GBA. For now i think those speakers are too expensive for trial and error.

Maybe speaker from PSP or notebook would do the trick? It would be nice to hear some bass out of GBA.

Anyone tried to replace speaker in GBA?

Original GBA or SP? Consider that you also have the option to tap into the headphones.GBAtek, despite having all it does, does not seem to have an impedance rating for the speaker(s). I pulled apart a GBA and the in circuit measurement was 8 Ohms for its speaker, I was not prepared to desolder it or pull apart a SP right now. Typically this is what you want to match when replacing speakers, though you can differ if you know what you are doing.

Finally the DACs on the GBA are not the best, I am not sure if people have replaced them with anything better yet.

I have original GBA.
So 4 ohm speaker would go louder, right?

Of course, i use jack output for making music in nanoloop and LSDJ, but i want to mod internal speaker just for better gaming experience :gba:
