Hi everyone! :3 I come desperately seeking assistance.
Yesterday I bought 2 new R4i cards off a girl from a local classifieds website. She told me it did not come with the micro SD or games preloaded, but was fine with this because I have an older R4 card I use with my DS Lite that I have updated/added games to/etc. I was pretty confident I would have no issues.
I get them home, pop in a brand new micro SD, go to the website on the packaging and download the firmware. Problem is I just cannot get it to work at all on my 3DS. I get the message "An error has occurred. Press and hold the power button to turn off the system. Please refer to the operations manual for details." I tried the same card in my DS Lite and it appears to work perfectly... Can run games no problem.
So I googled a few things and downloaded an upgraded firmware package from the same website onto one of the cards. I ran the upgrade with my DS Lite (because I can't even get into the menu on my 3DS), and now that card won't work at all on either machine. Same message for the 3DS and on the DS Lite it just white screens after I try to load the card.
So now I'm stuck. I've got one card that now won't work on either, and one that will only work on my DS Lite, which is kind of pointless since I already have an R4 card for that DS.
My 3DS is version 4.2.0-9U. Does anyone know if there is no new update for this version on R4i cards? Or is my card just a fake? Help! :C
