Hello, I have a short question regarding a data transfer from an old SD card to a new one for my modded N3DS XL.

Is it safe to transfer Checkpoint back-ups from a corrupted to a new SD card? Or should I install everything from scratch?

The reason for changing the card is that the previous SD card had corrupted save files & I'll get a new card in the next days. I would like to transfer any of my Checkpoint game back-ups to the new card but I am not sure if the seemingly intact save files can be moved to the new card or if they might be corrupted as well.

Previously I moved the back-ups, the Luma & Homebrew related stuff to a folder on my PC & I'm not sure if the back-ups will work or if they are somehow affected by the SD card corruption.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Why not try it and find out..? The worst thing that could happen is that the game will complain that the data is corrupted. (What would you expect?)

Also, if the data was corrupted, Windows would probably give you some kind of error message.

If the games you are looking at happen to have save data editors, you can always use those to look at your Checkpoint backups and verify that they contain the data you expect.

Thank you. I will try it out later & will leave an update on here if it worked or not.

Edit: I managed to restore the game saves back-ups by using a 16 GB micro SDHC. Unfortunately the 32 GB SD card was faulty from the get-go but the 16 GB works & I was able to get my saves back (except for Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Edition but it isn't too bad because I only played it for a few minutes) :)
