So got a faulty switch off ebay, missing its sd card.....
Unfortunately its a little worse then the description!
This clown has butchered it!
I know its dead just thought I would show it off to some of the wonders of ebay sellers....
The switch does power on and apparently works but the sd card is fu##ed!

You mean that even putting a new SD card, the system refuses to read from it? If so, why not you just return it? If no, you could use it as normal, but be aware that at some point those scratches will cause some problems in the future.

If it was sold as anything other than "for parts or repair" you should be able to get your money back. Just take pics of everything including the SD not working and file a return claim with eBay.

Never say never.

Most of those look like scratches in what I presume is the groundplane. The handful of destroyed tracks, none of which appear to be impedance matched, might well be able to be sorted with jumpers either to the other side or the vias nearby.

was sold as faulty but, "missing sd card slot" does not really cover it...
You live and learn, I will probably relist with more accurate detail, someone will find use for it!

That's horrible, why would someone do this?
I wouldn't expect something like that when the description mentions a missing SD slot.

Some people should really stay away from electronics.

Christ, that is some serious damage done to that board BUT if you've got the skills, you might still be able to resurrect it by bridging/splicing the broken contacts to where they are meant to go.

Long shot, but just might work if you've got the time (likely a few hours), patience and the few tools needed.

Sheesh, how does one even do damage like that?
There's no way it's not intentional. That many scratches and that deep? Almost seems to me like the seller sold it without the sd card port because it got damaged, then decided to maliciously damage the mobo to make sure the buyer wouldn't make any money off of their foolishness.

Seller pleading ignorance? I need to wait a week then can open a case against it. I need to take a look at a non damaged one to see if I can salvage this.. Somehow??
Looks like maybe 2 pads are gone, unless there is 4 underneath them scratches?
