Signed up here just to get in contact w/ @vb_encryption_vb about hardmod installation, well worth the $60 for the professional and clean hardmod installation. (seriously, that jack legit looks like it's just part of the system) Would highly recommend if you've got $60 spare and you're in the united states.

He was also quite polite and was able to answer any questions I had very quickly.

Currently waiting on my O3DS XL to arrive to @hundshamer to get it hardmodded, so far he has responded fast to all my questions/messages, will report back when Hardmod is done.

I should also note that I am from Puerto Rico and he confirmed that he can indeed recieve and do Hardmod for anyone who is also from PR, might want to add that to the OP.
Me too!

Just got news that my N3DS hardmodded by @milerwan is on its way back. (I was one of the very few people that had an unlucky brick in the 2.1 process)

He has responded fast and professionally. Will report back when I have my 3ds back in my hands.

I really want to say, @gamesquest1 did a really exemplary job sorting out my 3DS.

He downgraded it to 9.2.0 for me, which saved me the trouble. The mod itself was of a surprisingly admirable aesthetic quality, the likes of which I hadn't seen (he hid the plug for the SD card connector in one of the lanyard housings at the bottom corners of the 3DS, you wouldn't know it's there unless you were looking for it). And he even went so far as to fix a chip in my case!

To say I was pleasantly surprised by the results would be an understatement!

I hooked it up to my computer, made another SysNand backup to compare with a softmod one I'd gotten from homebrew, and then went on to install EmuNand and unlink with a great safety net in place. Oh, I also want to praise him for not losing my SysNand data on downgrading. I had most things backed up, just in case, but my swapnotes weren't something I could nab beforehand (thanks to Nintendo building that data into the actual app and not allowing backups of it) and they do have a little sentimental value. I was prepared to lose them, but I didn't! NNID data in place and all. Great stuff.

Overall, I'm just really impressed. If you're in the UK, and you need a hardmod and/or downgrade, I really can't recommend him enough. Nice person to talk to, too. Just overall very professional. And I couldn't be happier!

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
