For all of you that dont want to use google, such as @Phenj among MANY OTHERS... which is a little sad in 2018.

Lakka is basically a linux distro with RetroAarch in mind, basically it just boot directly into retroarch.

This release also include the common bugs found on any other distro, starting with battery decalibrate.

I'll make a proper thread once it's usable for general use. I released an image so that you can help me find the correct configuration for the video settings, and more especially for the games speed : do you feel like the games run too fast ?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I dont know what your problem is but omg this can play NDS games? Im guessing like 1fps if no hardware acceleration.

Not yet, I've yet to make desmume work

Not too fast, unfortunately from what I've seen it seems the linux battery bug still effects us even with this release, shame, but oh well still a pretty cool release.

I ment in general. But its still a real nice thing to know about. I wish I could contribute to things like this. But sadly I’m just a spectator

I'm not really playing with any Linux stuff until sound and battery issues are resolved, but I have always liked lakka on the raspberry pi, so once those are resolved this will probably be kept installed on my switch and the raspberry pi can be retired from retro games ^_^

Or maybe when releasing something, you should define what it is? I don't know. Kinda hard to assume it's another OS when it's got a ".tv" attached to it. Let's not be a prick for nothing, yeah?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
