I got my SCDS1 4 days ago and it worked fine untill yesterday when I tried GH:OT Hacked and found that when a lot of notes are on the screen it lags badly. So i tried the Castlevania DoS intro and that one lags a lot too. I tried changing the SD card speed to 4x 3x 5x and even tried the auto setting which gave me 25x. Tried with DMA mode and even without patch mode but still the same thing. Then I tried loading the roms through the DSTT menu and they work flawless. Is there something that can be done so I can get them to work ok on the SCDS firmware too?

With that 2gb kingston mem card use FAT format, set sd speed to 28, highlight CastlevaniaDOS game and press 'x', touch 'set patch' and turn all options off and save. Now the intro will run at full speed on Castlevania DOS.

Hmm I'll try that too sidney for my Sandisk.

Also, the SuperCard reads the SD card slow for some reason. However, using 3rd party firmwares like the DSTT firmware on SuperCard will fix it.

It does seem that some patch settings can affect game speed (depending on the game). I know that, for example, Portrait of Ruin's videos lag slightly if I have certain patch settings on (Real Time Save I think it was).

Well I tried different format settings and patch settings and speed settings but Guitar Hero still lags. Maybe it's because it is hacked or it is a bad rom. Anyway I'm playing it from the DSTT menu and it works great.

    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
