ROM Hack Kazo's Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Translation

Downloaded ur patch v 3. downloaded clean rom from a very reliable site of silver. followed instructions by putting the Silver.nds file into rom folder of V3 package, double clicked Patch.bat and it said was 100%complete but there is only a NDS patch that is 0kb

Script for Linux users

1. Make sure you have wine installed
2. Open a terminal in the patch directory, then run:

wget -O patch.bash http://pastebin.ca/raw/1564632

3. Put all of your ROM files into the 'rom' folder, and make sure there are no spaces in the file names (because I am lazy)
4. Run:

chmod +x patch.bash
./patch.bash

You can also run `bash patch.bash` directly, but whatever.

If you have a previously patched rom, it should work fine.

I've managed to get it loaded up to where you first start off (right after the character's sprite shrinks down and you appear in your room). Thing is, everything apears black after that, but I can hear music. Help?

If you have a previously patched rom, it should work fine.
If you think you need the anti-blackscreen patch from HGE_P2/SSE_P2, patch using v2d before using v3.
v2.5c is at MegaUpload and v2d is at RapidShare.

The PC in your room when you start off is not translated, and nether is the very first thing before the info of a new game.

And why wont the game save. Like it says it does, then i restart and i have to make a new.

How do you go about combining the two translations, since for the most part they are covering and ignoring the same aspects of the game?

the save file isnt lost if you patch the game! All you have to do is rename the patched rom like the original rom so that it retains ur save file. Theres an alternate method: Rename the .sav file like the patched rom file. Hope this helped you tongue.gif

The new patcher extracts everything from the ROM, replaces one file, and then packs everything back up.

Hence, it's much slower, but you can have it applied even if you've used older Kazo patches ^^

Darn it, still no luck. I patched Soul Silver with that version 2d first, then patched it with 3, yet I still get black screens after the intro. Maybe it's my ROM? Or something else? Help.

I'm thankful for your hard work but just letting you know it alll fails for V 3, won't even patch.
