I got PKMN working on R4 with no patch.

PS: i took apart the rom and found a Child_r.srl that's file size is "1337" kb. Coincidence? I think not!

EDIT: There is also a Child2_r.srl thats ALSO 1337kb. >_> im pretty sure its on purpose.

This is just baffling to me.

I can't get it to work on my acekard 2i with 1.7.1. I've tried just clean rom, tried patched rom. still goes black after professor speech. Works on my son's acekard 2i 1.7.1..

strange. I've also reloaded my firmware .. no go.

This AP definitely wasn't as bad as HG/SS. No constant freezing or anything. Let's just hope there's no more AP buried later into the game. We have to assume that the translated versions coming out 6 months from now will have the same AP but buffed up.

So, any news on a translation for menus and names? It's getting annoying looking through my bag and I can't tell which are Antidotes or Paralyz Heals, because they're just all shades of yellow :/

Okay, people. We have found a way to gain exp in black and white. It's a simple hex edit. People are saying that it still freezes from time to time, even after this edit, but I've been playing for awhile (Level 14 water otter, Level 8 lightning puppy) and have had no freezes, yet, but I'm still saving frequently.. just in case. About 1 hour in, no freeze. Okay, so without wasting your time, here's how ya do it. This works for the majority of flashcards out. I am using R4 Wood 1.12.

1- Download the clean ROM, extract.
2- Download the patch program (http://www.mediafire.com/?g0otw2nyw2m), extract.
3- Open the patch program (RRPATCH)
4- Open the clean ROM.
5- Copy/paste the code below.
6- Click RUN, wait and then click OK.
7- Use the .nds file, not the .nds.bak.
8- Works for me (White, Akaio)

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention.. on R4 Wood firmware 1.12, open the options when you have the ROM selected (Before starting the game) and scroll over using R. Disable "Reset in game" and disable cheats, just to be safe. That will get you past the white screen.

Anyone know if it will work on No$GBA soon. I get the blue screen with the white box when I try to open it. Thank you. I can live with DesMuMe.

No reason to believe it even will work someday, and since it works on desmume, I don't think someone has it as a priority, because desmume has no "rom-image has crashed" or "memory messed up" errors which really ruin the game.

I don't think anyone has gotten it going on the NO$GBA unfortunately the game doesnt recognize any of the save types that are preprogramed into no$GBA best chance is to go to another emu

DesMuMe is the best DS Emu. Has alot higher specs than No$GBA tho
