In order to encourage children in Japan to stay home, the group is giving away one hundred Super Famicoms with Donkey Kong Country and Final Fantasy 6.
To apply, you just need to live in a household with a child under sixteen years old and be able to cover the postage fees. For more, check the organization’s official site.

The association points out that the consoles might be aged with sunspots, but the machines work and have been cleaned.

I'd be sad if I got a yellowed one :(

Apparently Japan has an incredible surplus of retro consoles. You can't swing a dong without it hitting retro hardware. It's the importing that's expensive.

meanwhile, where i live: allright, a really yellowed snes with no ac adapter, game or controller, that would be 50 dollars and you have to come pick it up

This is a waste of precious SNES hardware.

    It's all gonna get abused.

Their parents should just run DKC on Snes9x or Zsnes.

Or on SuperRetro16 (for Android devices).

    That's just a stereotype

    Hell no.
If you happen to buy used stuff from Japan, you'll see how they care of it.

That's very kind of them but those kids are going to abuse it and damaged it. :(

I don't think kids today would want a SNES. I mean it can't even play Fortnight.
