You don't need a separate Memory Stick for a MMS, and I'm sure 4GB work as a MMS. ediblebird's guide says they will work too.

well see i was reading up on it, via random sites i found with google. I read that 4 gigs often dont work for MMS's and that once you convert one to a MMS, it is not possible to reverse. Did i just get mislead, or is that true? Thats why i want two cards at this point.

The part about you not being able to convert it back is completely untrue. The part about 4gb sticks not working is partially true. If in the process of making the MMS, it finds a bad sector, that stick can't be made into a MMS. I hear its about 50/50 for making a good MMS from a 4gb stick.

Yeah, to reverse it just go into System Settings and click Reformat Memory Stick. It'll even make all the folders you need for you.

I used my 4 gig to make a memory stick, and changed it back to normal with no problem. But I also read it's good to keep a dedicated MMS around in case you brick your psp (unless you have an adapter to put your memory stick in your PC and make a new one, i think, someone correct me if I'm wrong). I know Sandisk's are good, Im not saying they're not, but the one you are thinking of buying isnt an Ultra II, so you may have problems with demanding games. I know you want to save money, and the Lexar should end up being cheaper after the rebate, even calculating the extra shipping cost. And it's supposedly faster. But it's up to you, and like I said, I haven't come across any slowdowns or anything on that Sandisk yet, so hopefully you'll be ok.

hm ok, all this budgeting will be modified tomorrow night when i get home from my sisters(the plan is to run there, visit, and pick it up). Who knows, maybe ill be lucky, and it will already be modded. Doubtful, but i do know it comes with one of the GTAs.

I hate to double post but i was locked out yesterday and most of today(the site just came back up, and its 11:48 CST for me) so this topic looks like its old news, but its not. I got the PSP, its not modded, has frimware 2.82 on it, and came with the 32 MB memory stick and GTA LCS. Basically from what i can tell its brand new. Anyway, due to paypal restrictions, and my mom not listening to me today(she babysits for my other sister) I cant order my card and pandora until today.
Now i know the pandora isnt needed due to the firmware im on, and it being downgradable, but id rather have it to be safe. Now I noticed a topic reviewing what i think was the same 4 gig lexar card from frys, so that is what i will be getting. In the mean time, ill play LCS since i find it is quite fun. Once again sorry on the double posting.
