That's probably because the Wii U version is based on an older version of Terreria and has some exclusive content. Maybe try an editor for XBone or PS4 if there are any. I would say a 3DS save editor, but the 3DS version is based off of Mobile, not Console or PC.

i only found XBLA. do i use it?

Hey, could you upload your save and a list of tried save editor's? Also if any of them gave more then just "Save is corrupted". Maybe i could fix one of them up or make a new one for the WiiU.

Well the good news is, the character doesn't get fully corrupted loaded in the pc version, but still doesn't work. That's means i should get it to work by writing a new save editor. The bad news are, there are no open source projects from any editor which is near version 1.3 and decompiling older versions are..... yeah... lets just say, it's easier to decompile the game. Even worse is, that's i dont have much time this week and the weekend, so it could take a while, and still this is no promise that's i would get it to work.

Little updated for other interested people.
I started the projects with the little time i have. Current state: https://github.com/DarkIrata/TerrariaU-SaveEditor/releases

It is possible to edit the inventory, name, gender, difficulty and colors. BUT!
You can only edit your inventory if you doesn't have equiped any armor or accessories. This will be changed later, by me or someone who want to contribute to the project.
The reason are the offsets which get moved. (who thought armor would be saved before the inventory~)

Currently i can't say if items in a safe or piggy bank could also make problems.. But don't be scared to try it! Automated backup files on save.
If you have any bugs, feel free to report them. But don't expect to get a quick fix.
