Gaming Is there a easy guide for a noob to flash a xbox 360

Hi There,

I have an xbox 360 which has already been flashed but not by me.
I was thinking if there is an update that comes out can i flash it myself.
Well probably yes but i need a real easy guide that shows me exactly what to do and what items i need for the computer to set it up.
Any help would be appreciated.

First updates are few and far between (new drives these days are the only reason we see them), I am not entirely sure you should even update if you already have a flashed one. This being said some of the early detectable firmwares may warrant an update (although you will lose speed settings and single layer compatibility) if you care about live.

Anyhow to update you will follow the same procedure as flashing a new one, I am not sure if the apps can extract an already flashed drive key (I would imagine so but I am not willing to say either way) but if you already have it then all is good.

Note even with a drive that has already been flashed the sata chipset needs to be one that works.

Sounds harder then i thought.
I have ixtreme 1.5 i think but really unsure how to even check (if there is a way).
Sounds like i should just leave it for now.
