I feel like since OpenMW is open source, it could be done. But I'm curious of the limitations of it, I know for a fact reflections would be out the window and shadows probably wouldn't be possible either. Lots of visual effects would have to be sacrificed due to the age and limitations of the 3ds gpu. But wouldn't it still be awesome and equally hilarious to play Morrowind on 3ds?

If you work a lot for this, you can do it, i think, but this isn't sure... You can try anyway, for see if the console can load a game like this with the parameters decreased to the maximum ?

I've asked this very question on the OpenMW forums and the consensus there was "no."

Looking into it, the 3DS doesn't have enough VRAM. I figure MAYBE a port that somehow downsizes all the textures could possibly work (I'm no developer, take that with a grain of salt), but a straight port likely isn't happening.

I don't have much hope as it'd probably look like King's Field when it's all done. Still it'd be an entertaining project. If I knew how to even get started I would just for the fun of it.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
