It's meant to be a temporary solution until devs finds another exploit (like those gateway shit).

It's a PS3 Slim 2511A. I ran MinVerChk and it said the lowest version I could downgrade is 3.6; Am I screwed? May MinVerChk be wrong, by any chance?

Unfortunately that PS3 model is not downgradable. 250XX and below only.

Afaik there is no hardware modding on the ps3 that allows downgrading. Well there is the Cobra ODE, but that only allows piracy.

..yo, I have a downgradable PS3 , but its not worth it for me to buy a E3 flasher or ask someone to do it for 60€???!!!

This method kind of allows homebrew too afaik. Some one was able to run super Mario 1 nes on the PS3 .... so yeah...

No homebrew, just backups. It's not a full hack, just a workaround to get backups loading. It'll likely be patched out with the next system update.

Except nothing more will, its not an "exploit", just a workaround. You'll never get anything more than playing backups. Think of it like a Sky3ds, it doesn't use any fancy hacks or anything to run backups so it's restricted to games only.

Damn. A shame really. And reading further into it, it seems not even all games work on it either? Something about a list?

Edit:Sorry, I'm not all that versed in stuff to do with the ps3. It's been a long time since I've even looked at the thing.

I got it in september of last year. The current firmware on it is 4.25. The number on the back is - CECH-3001A

I had an old PS3 before I bought the new one. But it stopped loading games. It was a 60GB model too. So it had PS2 backward compatibility and everything.

your PS3 it's not properly hackable, but you can run backup *cough* pirated *cough* games
there's also a workaround for ofw 4.81 on daxhordes

Don't downgrades require certain models of ps3? As in no superslims?
