So does PC Engine for GBA need an update? Along with GameGear/Master System ? @VmprHntrD
Honestly I don't know. The HTML tool seems to have ironed out some rom creating issues on a web forum from what i can see there. The dedicated current offline apps though are broken much the same as the other for PocketNES. I know it had been worked on for a time, perhaps it could be optimized or bug crushed further but that's beyond my scope to say since I can't do that.

In general I can just say if you were to make that other thread at minimum the PCE and SMS/GG emulators would need an up to date stand alone tool to create roms, the script made there for HTML using python created a working GBA binary and that one looking at the options makes one for all of the various flubba(etc) made old GBA emulators. Perhaps using that as a backbone over claude.ai a set of executables could be made for the various emulation packages.

Using a mix of claude AI, patters-match python scripts HTML package, and github to take what was crafted and executing it after some struggles figuring it out to make a windows executable and it appears this does work correctly there's this: https://github.com/tan00k1/gba-builder-desktop

If that offends anyone, I'll pull it. I just needed github to create the file, so far it did make a working small PCE file with like 8 Japanese titles in it I added to it as a test.

Congratulations, and welcome to modern development in the age of AI.

Remember to thank and give credit to the author of the original script code (Patters) the author of the webapp code (me, radicalten), and the authors of each bundled emulator in the main page of your github repo (you can have Claude AI help you with this, not only is proper credit required it is also the right thing to do).

Patters wrote everything in the folder "gba-emu-compilation-builders"
I wrote everything in the folder "gba-builder"

@VmprHntrD oh nice, you're using Claude for your projects too?
I don't really have projects, but I saw you could use a basic version for free and after what you said I thought I'd see how far I could take it and had it compile that HTML version of the tool that does all those GBA emulators as a windows executable. It has drop boxes to pick your system, then whatever variables that emulator allows for, etc then select games you want, and then run the maker with the button and it spits out a working file where you want it.

I had to have claude walk me through the process including largely figuring out the back end of github to have it take the files and make a working executable to download then host. I think I'll keep the accounts active, as I've come across some other homebrew apps and games that are left as files without a build and this would be nice to be able to take those files into a github and make its making creating the usable piece in the end.

I did update the page again giving a list of what is handles and who did what with emulators and what not and said credit me nothing, I just used a tool with a second tool to make something that works -- that's it.

Mappers 37 (SMB + Tetris multicart), 82 (SD Keiji: Blader), and 211 (bootlegs like Tiny Toons Adventures 6) have been added : https://github.com/GamingFanboy365/pocketnes

The readme now also has a list of mappers still to be implemented.

Mapper to-do list is now more comprehensive. Bootleg Donkey Kong Country 4 is also confimed to work since it's a mapper 211 game.

@VmprHntrD apparently my fork is based on an earler version of pocketnes, whereas dwedit's had some improvements: https://github.com/Dwedit/PocketNES

Anyway, I've updated PocketNES again to support what Dwedit's had. My pocketnes also now has compatibility with mapper 114

Solid complete piece of work merging the works into this more yet comprehensive release as I don't know if Dwedit still bothers with updates as it is. GBA got so hard abandoned by many because it's easier to work with the larger overhead of the DS line of handhelds.

That tool I had AI cobble together doesn't force the use of the stock included versions of the emulator, so your update can be applied to it before creating a set of files within for a personal library of fun choices.

I am curious, have you tested the MMC5 backed Sim City prototype? I am fairly certain that failed on the old 9.98 release from ages ago because it greatly uses the unique features of that mapper and back then MMC5 was just implemented just enough to work the Castlevania and Koei games while cutting corners around the rest.

I'll take a look at it now

(also LOL a few already mad at my opening post; farewell, gatekeeping purists!)

@VmprHntrD okay it's been updated. i don't think the SimCity prototype is fully compatible but it should now be playable for the most part.
