What can I do with softmod, and what can I do with a hardmod?DigitalDeviant said:Depends on what type of mod you want.
if softmod then yes because its so easy and the benefits are staggering unlimited access to homebrew apps,
playing backups from hdd, custom menu, emulation of snes, gameboy, etc.
if hardmod then not necessarily since that cost $$$ and expertise.
Hardmod: Play backups of Wii and GC games from DVD (and USB if you buy a WODE).gifi4 said:What can I do with softmod, and what can I do with a hardmod?

There really isn't a downside beyond being a little cautious with updating (and well, don't expect to get it repaired officially)
And it's pretty easy to do, couple of minutes to get the HBC installed and just a bit more steps if you want to do stuff like USB loading.
Me either. If the scene didn't exist, I likely would have sold the thing on ebay by now. Originally, I only got it so I could play Pokemon Battle Rev and MKWii online a few times a week with a friend.Lordnoah said:anyways, its totally worth it, I really can't imagine wii not modded
