So I am fucked then?
Pretty much. ReiNX had the function to be able to boot into CFW without an SD card, but a.) You would have to be on a system version supported by ReiNX (and you can't downgrade without an SD card), and b.) You would still need an SD card for any homebrew apps.

So yeah, you're fucked.

Well, my SD may still work long enough to downgrade before it completely dead and I may not need any homebrew app. With that in mind, how should I process?

If you aren't using any homebrew apps, what's the purpose of CFW? Backup loading?

Maybe...?
The latest version of ReiNX should at least work on 10.0.2 (maybe higher). So, if you can get the following steps to work, do the following:
  1. Downgrade to 10.0.2 using Atmosphere and Daybreak. I wouldn't recommend doing this without an eMMC backup stored somewhere safe, and with your SD reader allegedly on the verge of failing, I don't think I'd recommend this at all.
  2. See if the latest version of ReiNX boots without an SD card.
If you can get the SD reader working, that'd be recommended of course.
