I could be wrong, but I don't think it was ever released for PC-98, unlike the title I mentioned earlier. There's Divi-dead, too, but the translation has a bad rep.
This is a sad news ...but I suspected it, since the english version was for win 95, and not for ms-dos....Nocturnal Illusion uses a different file format too.
could you be so kind as to help me get the game on my computer through dc or something, I really enjoyed watching it and want to be able to play the original version myselfI am pleased to inform you all that the author has completed the conversion of the English translation from PC (Win) to PC-98 (emu) format (.hdi).
Truly a commendable and noteworthy, titanic undertaking :
Yoooo, that's increadible, if you wouldn't mind could you shoot me that link on discord or something, I'm not entirely sure how this stuff works, so if you are able to help in any way I would greatly appreciate it, I'm considering buying the new version, but I'd like to play the original first and haven't been able to find much info on it anywhere.Hello, I'm the Yu-No PC-98 patch author.
The hdi builds that were shared on discord and hosted on mega were for testing purposes only (some updates literaly broke the game engine). After the patch completion, the link was removed because there was no purpose in keeping it. I was never threatened by anyone, don't worry about me
However, yes, it's now complete. The archive link ecto posted just above is the official one.
It's labeled as RC2 because the epilogue hasn't been fully proofred yet and may have the occasional typo here and there. I'll release an incremental update with all remaining typos corrected after my proofreader completes the game. I'll let you know there when it's done (or otherwise I regulary post updates about y pc-98 related projects on Twitter). You can however begin a game, the update will be incremental and won't touch your saves.
I'm sorry for the circonvulted patching method, but the game structure itself was preventing me to use a more streamlined way. If you have any trouble applying it, just let me know and I'll help the best I can.
Anyway, thanks for the interest. Hope you'll enjoy the game !
If you had read all the previous posts you would know that you can find the game pre-patched here:could you be so kind as to help me get the game on my computer through dc or something, I really enjoyed watching it and want to be able to play the original version myself
i was referring to discord with dc, i tend to have trouble with these kinds of older games, so was just wondering if youd be willing to help if i had any troubleIf you had read all the previous posts you would know that you can find the game pre-patched here:
To play it on PC you have to use the emulators Neko Project 2 or Anex86 with the necessary system files: you can find them easily if you search on Google. With NP2, to load Yu-No.hdi just click with the mouse on the hdd option of the emulator and a window will open where you can search for that game on your PC.
With "through dc" I do not know what you mean, so I can not answer.
Otherwise, I hope I've answered your question.
Note: As an alternative solution, you could directly use the win95 version (identical graphic aspect), that you can find pre-patched and even with japanese voice acting (from Sega Saturn version) on a famous site, where you can download eroge games (that obviously I can't name). Search for "YU-NO - The Girl that Chants Love at the Edge of the World": as you can see, the translation is a little different than the modern one.
I used to play it on Windows XP (Pentium II), but to use it on modern systems and PCs you will have difficulties.
I don't have Discord app on my smartphone, and generally don't use social media, but if you have any difficulties, feel free to post your questions here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.i was referring to discord with dc, i tend to have trouble with these kinds of older games, so was just wondering if youd be willing to help if i had any trouble

Ah, I just asked in that regard because it would probably be easier to do it via a method where I'd be able to share my screenI don't have Discord app on my smartphone, and generally don't use social media, but if you have any difficulties, feel free to post your questions here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
