Ok well I test this battery LUPO DSi battery and the the one that comes with the DSi.

I tested both batteries on full brightness on the menu screen of 'New Super Mario Bros.'

Standard DSi battery
Time lasted: 3 hours 45 minutes

LUPO battery:
Time lasted: 35 minutes

It might of been a faulty battery but it probably wasn't.

I've had an experience similar to this with my DSlite. I bought a 2000mah battery to replace the original 1000mah one. At first, I thought I got burned because the battery life lasted about 1/5 the time of the original, but after a FEW charges, the 2000mah battery started lasting longer. Now, it DOES last longer than the original...about 50% longer. Trust me, go through a few charge cycles on the new battery before passing judgment. It seems that the DS didn't charge it fully the first few times, or the battery didn't reach it's full capacity for a few charges. I don't know what the deal was exactly, but it works great now.

I'll try that.

I did this with my 2000mAh one on my dsl and it broken even but a couple of weeks later it died off and started getting worse and worse charges until it barely lasted 20mins, 5 on green 15 on red.

The DSi's battery is actually pretty good as long as the brightness is atleast 3 or lower.

QUOTE(awssk8er @ Aug 13 2009, 06:11 AM) Turn your brightness down. I keep mine on 2, and I can see it perfectly, and it lasts like 4-5 times longer.

Finally some people see sense. The DSi's battery life isn't bad, it's just not designed to use the highest settings all the time.

Yeah i've been using it on 2 or 3 and the battery life is fine for me. I dont get why it took so long for people to realise its stupid to have it on something like 5.

'Advertisement: The dsi has a newer, brighter lighting setting!' For What?! To see it perfectly on a bright summer day in somewhere like texas or a desert?!

Whats the point of it being really bright and chopping off about 7-9 hours when you can see it perfectly fine on 2 or 3.

my maximum brightness is level 2 even on brightest day. WTF is nintendo thinking on 5 levels?

Who knows. It was really kinda stupid, because now everyone only judges the DSi based on the highest, and stupidest level of lighting on it.

Strange, I set to the lowest brightness level (1) and I got 7 hours 45 minutes before the battery blinking red ...

I was expecting more, since I got 7 hours 30 minutes on brightness level 2.

The thing that was changed ... I played Nanostray 1 for about an hour.

Probably it does not really matter between brightness 1 and 2 .... in this case, I will set it to 2.

I set the brightness to 2 and it only lasted 7 hours 30 minutes (I wrote down all play durations):

15 minutes.
10 minutes.
4 hour 30 minutes
7 minutes
2 hour 30 minutes

Then the battery blinking red ... so I fully recharged it.

I played Pokemon Platinum and Cake Mania if that has some influence on battery life.
And I dont use Wi-Fi, it is turned off.

Now, I set to the lowest brightness (1) and will report later.

This is brand new DSi, I bought it last week.

Lowest brightness is quite dark, but it is ok for certain game like Pokemon Platinum.
I prefer brightness=2 btw.
