As of yet, there are very few DS(i) mode homebrew installable on the 3DS - the only two I can think of are that action replay alternative, and that launcher for blocked flashcarts.
NDS games are made to executed exclusively from a cartridge. I'm not a developer, so I don't know how hard it is to bundle a .nds file into a .cia, but clearly it's not very straightforward, or there would probably be a converter by now.

Not to mention that the only practical and legal DS(i) mode homebrew for 3DS will probably involve passing code execution to the cartridge, something that DS programs are absolutely not made to do.

Im pretty sure its extremely straightforwars and easy to convert a nds into a cia, but the issue is mist nds files arent compatible and will white screen. All ds games and some ds homebrew that require certain abilities only flashcarts can provide will give an error, but an exclusive few, i can really name any off of tje top of my head work as a converted cia. Say portal ds doesnt work, but wood dumper does.

I wouldn't consider a successful conversion if the app doesn't launch properly.

Did you guys try patching the DLDIs before running them on the 3DS? Might not solve all problems, but could mitigate some problems with accessing the filesystem. More on that here: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/DLDI
Like I said, I've never tried doing it at all, personally - my flashcart gets the job done a lot easier (which I imagine is why there's so little development).

    Switch 2 shouldn't cost more than $250. It's a fucking handheld console.

best buy is questionable... I can't get thru a line
  • TeconMoon @ TeconMoon:
Pre-ordering was a bit nuts but I somehow got two orders lined up. Walmart went live early with a queue system that was actually extremely stable and I was able to snag one for shipping, no in-store pickup.

Target.com went down immediately but the app was up for a little longer before going down and a couple of friends managed to snag pre-orders there, but it was $10 extra for release day shipping also with no local pickup.

Don't give up on the Best Buy line! I waited for 35 minutes before the page automatically refreshed and asked me to re-login, I thought I was done for but after I re-logged back in it took me immediately to checkout with 10 minutes to complete the purchase.
  • TeconMoon @ TeconMoon:
Best Buy local pickup is what I was going for so I'm glad it panned out. I had some rewards certificates waiting to be used and got some money back on my Best Buy credit card. Gotta get me that midnight pickup!

@TeconMoon walmart keeps going in and out of stock. I'm worried about ordering 1 more and having cancellation since I already ordered 1 tho
  • realtimesave @ realtimesave:
@TeconMoon I got booted out of the best buy line in one of my browsers dunno what's up with that
