The Wii doesn't have a firmware. You carry on asking these bloody stupid questions and nothing has sunk in yet? And you still haven't learned how to search...

^^ What he said, HOWEVER, if you're on an official version past 4.1 (like 4.2), you'll have a stub IOS at slot 249.
It's recommended to use AnyTitleDeleter or another method to delete this stub IOS before installing another IOS over it.

If there's something like a firmware on Wii then it's the IOS. And the cIOS is used instead of an IOS, so your question is totally wrong and can't be answered.
