Title says all.
The Wii doesn't have a firmware. You carry on asking these bloody stupid questions and nothing has sunk in yet? And you still haven't learned how to search...
This fellas an expert anyway, he shouldn't have to ask.
^^ What he said, HOWEVER, if you're on an official version past 4.1 (like 4.2), you'll have a stub IOS at slot 249.
It's recommended to use AnyTitleDeleter or another method to delete this stub IOS before installing another IOS over it.
If there's something like a firmware on Wii then it's the IOS. And the cIOS is used instead of an IOS, so your question is totally wrong and can't be answered.
